- The hospital and college are build in peaceful environment of greenery on the East Coast Road near the seacoast, 12 miles north of Pondicherry town.
- The Indian Home Minister Sri L.K.Advani Inaugurate the hospital foundation and college building on 12th July 2000.
- PIMS Hospital Emergency Block was opened on 8th March 2001 by the Pondicherry Chief Minister Thiru.P.Shanmugam and the hospital units were started functioning from October 2001.
