Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).
Is the counselling for all rounds including Stray Vacancy Round conducted by KEA?
Yes, all rounds including Stray Vacancy Round are conducted only by KEA in online mode.
Do I need to register with KEA and complete document verification to be eligible for admission?
Yes, all UG NEET qualified candidates must register online and complete document verification with KEA.
Are non-Karnataka candidates eligible for AYUSH courses in Karnataka?
Yes, but only for notified seats.
What is the legal jurisdiction for any dispute regarding seat selection, admission, fees or cancellation?
Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka.
Within how many days can a person appeal against the order of the Executive Director?
Within 15 days from the date of such order or decision.

Can I submit a physical copy of the application form by post?
No, application is online only.
Will KEA entertain a request for change of details in the online application?
No.
If I get a seat through another board (like MCC, JEE, KPCF) and also through KEA, what must I do?
Surrender the KEA seat before the last date for modifying options in the Second Round, otherwise KEA may initiate action.
How do I surrender a seat allotted by KEA?
Surrender only to KEA in writing. Not reporting to the college does not mean surrender.
Does KEA allow mutual transfer of seats?
No, mutual transfer is not entertained at any point.
Are SC/ST/OBC eligibility criteria applicable to all candidates?
No, applicable only to Karnataka candidates who are eligible for Government seats under specified clauses (a,b,f,h,j,k,l,o).
Can a candidate already studying Medical/Dental or who took a seat in a previous year and did not surrender get a seat in 2026?
No, not eligible.
What happens if a candidate submits false or forged documents?
Seat cancelled at any point during course, criminal prosecution, forfeiture of fees, debarred from future exams/counselling, and may be blacklisted.
What is the compulsory rural service requirement for Medical course in Karnataka?
One year compulsory rural service in a Government hospital as per Karnataka Act 2012 (amended 2017). Only temporary registration until service is completed.
Do private college students also have to do rural service?
Yes, all candidates allotted Medical seats through KEA in both Government and Private colleges must submit a sworn affidavit for one year rural service.
What are the four categories of seats under KEA counselling?
G – Government Seats; P – Private Seats; N – NRI Seats; Q – Others Seats.
What is included in Government Seats (G)?
100% seats in Government colleges + 40% (Medical) / 35% (Dental) in Private Non-Minority colleges + 25% in Private Minority (Religious & Linguistic) colleges.
What is the percentage of Private Seats (P) in KPCF Medical colleges?
40% seats.

What is the percentage of Private Seats (P) in KPCF Dental colleges?
45% seats.
What are GMP seats?
For 50% of Private Seats (40% in Medical / 45% in Dental), only Karnataka candidates are eligible (called GMP seats).
What are OPN seats?
Remaining 50% of Private Seats are “OPEN” quota seats filled based on All India NEET merit; only Citizens of India are eligible.
What is the NRI seat quota in KPCF, KRLMPCA and AMPCK colleges?
15% of total seats.
What is the Others (Q) seat quota?
5% of total seats.

What is the minimum qualifying marks in PCB for General category in the qualifying examination?

40% aggregate.
What is the qualifying percentile for UR/EWS in NEET?
50th percentile.
What is the qualifying percentile for OBC/SC/ST in NEET (Karnataka candidates only)?
40th percentile.
What is the qualifying percentile for UR/EWS with PH?
45th percentile.
What is the qualifying percentile for OBC/SC/ST with PH?
40th percentile.
What is the NEET marks range for UR/EWS category?

Will KEA allot seats to candidates who have not registered or not completed document verification?
No.
Is mere qualifying in UG NEET enough to get a seat?
No. Candidate must also fulfill eligibility conditions and submit certificates for verification.
Can I change my information after online registration?
No. Information provided will be treated as correct and KEA will not entertain any change request.
Can I enter fresh options for seat allotment in subsequent rounds after the first round?
Yes, you may add new options for any colleges/courses added to the seat matrix after the first round. But options entered before the first round remain the final list; you cannot re-enter all options.
Can I delete or alter the order of higher options?
Yes, candidate may delete or alter order of higher options.
Should I share my application number, password, or mobile number with others?
No. Do not share with anonymous persons.
What should I do if someone approaches me claiming guaranteed medical seat through unfair means?
Do not trust them. Immediately intimate KEA by email.
Will KEA be responsible if I miss updates because I did not check the website or SMS?
No. KEA will not be held responsible for non-receipt of information due to wrong mobile number or not checking the website.
How many printouts of the final online application should I keep?
At least two printouts.
What documents must I retain for future correspondence?
(i) Two printouts of online application; (ii) UG NEET 2026 Admit Card and Score Card; (iii) 2 passport size identical photographs uploaded in the application.
