What is the logic of seat allotment for MBBS?
General seat allotted by merit. Reserve category candidate gets general or reserve seat by ear-marking. Specified quota (PwD, DEF, Hilly, Women, Orphan) filled first.
What is a Status Retention Form?
A form submitted by a candidate who joins Round 1 seat and is satisfied, not willing for upgradation. Submission is irrevocable. Such candidates are not eligible for further rounds.
Can a candidate who joined Round 1 seat and did not fill Status Retention Form participate in Round 2?
Yes, for upgradation. They must fill fresh choices for Round 2. Round 1 seat is held until upgraded.
What happens if a candidate is selected in Round 1 but does not report to the allotted institute?
Candidate is eligible for Round 2. No new registration required. They must log in with earlier details and fill fresh preferences. Round 1 selection stands cancelled.
Who is eligible for Round 2 seat allotment for MBBS?
Registered candidates who didn’t fill choices in Round 1; participated but got no seat; seat cancelled due to invalid claim but otherwise eligible; joined Round 1 and didn’t file Status Retention; did not join Round 1 seat; joined and resigned by Round 1 joining date.
Do Round 1 choices carry forward to Round 2?
No. Candidates must fill fresh choices for Round 2. Round 1 choices become null and void.
Who is eligible for Round 3 seat allotment for MBBS?
Registered candidates who didn’t fill choices in Round 1 & 2; participated in Round 1 & 2 but got no seat; joined in Round 2 but did not fill Status Retention; candidates who registered in Round 3.
Who is NOT eligible for Round 3?
Candidates who joined seat up to Round 2 and filled Status Retention Form.
Is it mandatory to join the allotted seat in Round 3 for MBBS?
Yes. Candidate must join within prescribed period. After allotment in Round 3, candidate is not eligible for any further rounds of State Counseling.
What happens after Round 3 if seats remain vacant?
Subsequent Online CAP Stray Vacancy Round(s) will be conducted.
Who is eligible for Online CAP Stray Vacancy Round?
Candidates who registered and filled preferences previously but were not allotted a seat till Round 3.
Is new registration allowed for Stray Vacancy Round?
No new registration. Candidates must fill fresh choices; Round 3 choices become null and void.

Group A is for MBBS and BDS courses. Candidates fill fresh choices separately for each round.
Who is eligible for selection to MBBS courses?
Candidates who have cleared NEET-UG 2026 are eligible.
In which rounds can a candidate register for Maharashtra State quota MBBS seats?
Candidate can register before Round 1 and Round 3. Fresh registration is allowed for Round 3 even if not registered earlier.
Do choices filled in one round carry forward to the next round?
No. Candidates must fill fresh choices for each round (Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and Online Stray Vacancy Round separately). Choices are valid only for that round.
Can a candidate who submitted Status Retention Form later resign and participate in further rounds?
Yes, such a candidate can resign before the prescribed date and will be eligible for Round 2 and Round 3.
If a candidate joins Round 1 seat, wants upgradation, but does not get upgraded in Round 2, what happens?
The candidate will retain the allotted seat of Round 1.
What happens to the Round 1 seat when a candidate is upgraded in Round 2?
The Round 1 seat becomes available in Round 2 and is allotted as per merit in the same round.
What is the penalty for lapse of MBBS seat?
Any candidate responsible for lapse of MBBS seat at Government/Government Aided/Corporation Medical College must pay non-refundable penalty of Rs. 10,00,000/-. Applicable to those who do not join during last round, cancel after last round, resign after cut-off date, or fail to complete the course.
What is the compulsory social responsibility service for MBBS students in Government/Municipal Corporation colleges?
After internship completion, candidate must serve Government of Maharashtra or local self government or Defence services for one year. Also must sign undertaking not to leave India within 5 years of obtaining degree, else pay Rs. 10,00,000/- penalty.
Is social responsibility service applicable to Private Unaided MBBS students?
Yes, but only for those availing reimbursement/scholarship from Tribal Welfare, Social Justice, OBC Welfare, or Medical Education Departments. Others not applicable.
What is the annual tuition fee for MBBS in Government/Government Aided/Corporation colleges?
Rs. 1,52,100 per annum plus Rs. 5,000 development fee per annum.
What are the additional one-time/additional fees for MBBS in Government colleges?
Admission fee Rs. 1,500 (at admission), Gymkhana fee Rs. 500 per annum, Hostel fee Rs. 4,000 per annum, Library fee Rs. 2,000 deposit once plus Rs. 1,000 per annum.

What is the refund of fees policy if a candidate cancels admission before cut-off date?
Rs. 1,500/- deducted and remaining fees refunded.
What is the refund of fees policy if a candidate cancels admission on or after cut-off date?
No refund of fees for Health Science Courses.
What is the penalty for a candidate who cancels admission after the prescribed cut-off date?
Penalty as per rule 16 (Rs. 10,00,000/- for MBBS seat lapse).
What is “Ear-Marking” for constitutional reserve category candidates?
A reserve category candidate entitled to admission on open category seat can opt for reserved category seat. One open seat is then earmarked for a successive reserve category candidate from same category merit. Not applicable for Specified Reservation.
What is the inter-se round for vacant reserved seats?
Conducted during Round 3 for remaining vacant seats from categories as per rule 9.4.2 and 9.4.3.
What happens to All India surrendered seats?
If available as per AACCC guidelines, filled by State CET Cell as per state quota rules. Added to seat matrix and allotted per existing preferences. No fresh preferences called.
Where do Defence category seats get allotted?
At State level from eligible candidates of respective specified reservation category.
What is the legal jurisdiction for disputes regarding State quota seats?
All disputes fall within jurisdiction of Courts at Mumbai only. Competent Authority is the legal person for Government of Maharashtra.

What happens if a candidate is found to have submitted false documents?
Admission cancelled, fees forfeited, expulsion from college, name deleted from State Merit List, debarred from selection process, and criminal proceedings may be initiated.
What action is taken against ragging?
As per Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act 1999, students can be suspended, expelled from college, and imprisoned.
Are Backward class applicants selected in Open Merit category eligible for freeship and scholarship?
Yes, as per Government orders.

Are candidates admitted to Vedanta Institute of Academic Excellence Pvt. Ltd., Palghar eligible for Government Scholarship?
No. This is an unaided private medical college. Candidates admitted under State quota or Institutional quota are not eligible for any Government Scholarship.
What happens if a candidate is found obstructing counseling/admission process?
Candidate liable for disqualification from selection process and appropriate legal action. Decision of Competent Authority is final and binding.
