Who is eligible to apply for Telangana Competent Authority Quota?
Indian Nationals, Person of Indian Origin (PIO), or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card holder (PIO/OCI status issued before 04-03-2021) who are domiciles of Telangana. Candidates from other States are not eligible.
What are the educational qualification marks required for OC candidates (including EWS)?
Not less than 50% marks in science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology) in Intermediate or equivalent.
What are the educational qualification marks required for BC/SC/ST candidates?
Not less than 40% marks in science subjects.
What are the educational qualification marks required for OC PwD candidates?
Not less than 45% marks in science subjects.
What is the minimum age requirement for MBBS/BDS admission?
Must have completed 17 years of age as on 31-12-2026.
What is the NEET-UG 2026 cutoff score for General Category including EWS?
50th percentile
What is the NEET-UG 2026 cutoff score for SC/ST/BC & PwD candidates of SC/ST/BC?
40th percentile
What is the NEET-UG 2026 cutoff score for Persons with Disability (OC)?
45th percentile
How is a local candidate defined for Telangana?
Studied in educational institutions in Telangana for 4 consecutive academic years, OR resided in Telangana for 4 years immediately preceding the qualifying exam. Local area means the State of Telangana.
What is the reservation for Scheduled Castes (SC) in Telangana?
15% of Competent Authority Quota seats. Out of this, 1% for SC Group I, 9% for SC Group II, 5% for SC Group III as per new G.O.
What is the reservation for Scheduled Tribes (ST) in Telangana?
10% of Competent Authority Quota seats.

29% total: BC-A 7%, BC-B 10%, BC-C 1%, BC-D 7%, BC-E 4%.
What certificate is required for SC/ST/BC reservation?
Latest Integrated Community Certificate in prescribed proforma issued by Competent Authority (Revenue Authorities) of Telangana.
What is the reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)?
10% in specified Government Medical Colleges (7 colleges) where NMC has specially sanctioned seats for EWS implementation.
What certificate is required for EWS reservation?
Latest EWS certificate valid for 2026-27 issued by Tahsildar, Competent Authority in Telangana.
What is the reservation for women candidates?
33 1/3% of seats are guaranteed for women candidates in each category. This does not apply if women already get 33 1/3% or more on merit.
What special category horizontal reservations are available?
CAP (Army) 1%, Persons With Disabilities (PWD) 5%, Police Martyrs Children (PMC) 0.25%.
What is the process for PwD reservation?
Candidate must apply under PwD category online and appear before the Medical Board constituted by the University for disability percentage assessment as per NMC/MCI regulations. Board decision is final.
Is there reservation for Anglo Indians?
Yes. One BDS seat in Government Dental College, Hyderabad is reserved for Anglo Indian candidates from unreserved seats.
Is there reservation for children of Singareni Collieries employees?
Yes. At Government Medical College, Ramagundam/Singareni Institute of Medical Sciences, 7 seats (after deducting AIQ) are reserved for children of Singareni Collieries employees. SC/ST/BC reservations apply. Certificate from Managing Director required.
Are grace marks added for NCC cadets?
Yes. Grace marks added to NEET score: 7% for Republic Day Camp participation, 5% for Thal/Vayu/Nau Sainik Camp participation, 3% for NCC ‘B’ Certificate. Certificate must be obtained prior to qualifying exam.
What is the fee for Muslim Minority candidates in private minority colleges?
Competent Authority Quota seats in Un-aided Private Minority Medical Colleges are reserved for Muslim Minority candidates only. A minority status certificate is required.
Will verification and registration fee be refunded?
No. The fee once paid will not be refunded or adjusted to a future date.
What documents need to be uploaded?
Scanned photo, signature, and original certificates (mandatory for all, plus category-specific certificates like caste, EWS, PwD, NCC, etc.) in jpg/.gif format.

What happens if new MBBS/BDS seats are permitted after notification?
Those seats will also be filled up under Competent Authority Quota. No further notification will be issued.
Are candidates from other States eligible for Telangana Competent Authority Quota?
No. Only domiciles of Telangana are eligible. Candidates who are domiciles of other States are not eligible.
