Counselling Rules and Regulation

1.NEET Eligibility

  • Minimum 17 years as of December 31, 2026. No upper age limit, meaning candidates of any age can apply.
  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects from a recognized board.
  • Should be an Indian Citizen.
  • Minimum Marks:
    • General/EWS: 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
    • OBC/SC/ST: 40% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
    • PwD (General): 45% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

2.Reservation

Government Colleges 15% – AIQ | 85% – SQ
Deemed Colleges 85% – Management Quota | 15% – NRI
Private Colleges 50% – Government Quota | 35% – Management Quota | 15% – NRI

This Reservation applicable for most of the Private Colleges. Government Quota Reservation is different for Minority Colleges.

2. What does “Free Exit” mean in Round 1?

Free Exit means that if you are allotted a seat in Round 1 but choose not to join the college, you can exit the process without losing your security deposit or facing any penalties.

3. Are there penalties for not joining a seat in the Stray Round?

Yes, the Stray Round (Round 4) has the strictest penalties. If allotted a seat, failing to join may result in a penalty of the full course fees and a ban from appearing in the next NEET exam.

4. What is the seat reservation for Private Medical Colleges?

Most private colleges follow a quota of 50% Government Quota, 35% Management Quota, and 15% NRI Quota. Note that these percentages may differ for Minority Institutions.

No, there is no State Quota in AFMC or ACMS.
  • AFMC: Selection is based on All India merit via MCC.
  • ACMS: Admission is reserved for children of Army personnel via IPU counseling.
