Candidate must have passed Tamil as one of the subjects in 10th Standard/Higher Secondary course, or shall study Tamil as subject during First Professional course.

No, issue of Admit Card does not necessarily mean acceptance of eligibility, which shall be further scrutinized at subsequent stages.

182. What items are barred inside the examination centre?

Textual material, bits of papers, Geometry/Pencil Box, Calculator, Pen, Scale, Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphones, Wallet, Goggles, Handbags, Belt, Cap, Watch, Camera, ornaments, food items, water bottle, and any other item that could be used for unfair means.

183. What is the dress code for NEET (UG) 2026?

Heavy clothes and long sleeves are not preferable. Slippers, sandals with low heels are preferable. Candidates in cultural/customary dress should report at least one hour before last reporting time (12:30 PM).

184. How will frisking of female candidates be conducted?

Frisking of female candidates will be done inside a closed enclosure by female staff only.

185. What is the last entry time at examination centre?

01:30 PM (no candidate shall be permitted to enter after this time under any circumstances).

186. What documents must candidates bring on exam day?

Printed Admit Card with passport size photograph affixed, one additional passport size photograph for Attendance Sheet, one Post Card Size (4″X6″) color photograph pasted on Proforma, and any one original valid photo ID (PAN card/Driving License/Voter ID/Passport/Aadhaar Card/DigiLocker/APAAR ID).

187. What time does the examination start and end?

02:00 PM to 05:00 PM (Indian Standard Time).

188. What time does the examination end for eligible PwD/PwBD candidates?

6:00 PM.

189. What is the reporting time at centre?

11:00 AM.

190. When is the last entry?

1:30 PM.

191. Can candidates leave the examination hall before the test concludes?

No, no candidate will leave until the test concludes as per schedule.

192. Are candidates with diabetes allowed to carry eatables?

Yes, candidates with diabetes are allowed to carry sugar tablets/fruits (banana/apple/orange) and transparent water bottles with prior intimation, but not packed foods like chocolate/candy/sandwich.

193. Will a re-test be conducted for candidates unable to appear?

No, a re-test shall not be held by NTA under any circumstances.

194. Will the examination be videographed?

Yes, the conduct of the examination would be videographed.

195. What constitutes unfair means practice?

Being in possession of prohibited items, impersonation, assisting others in malpractices, taking away answer sheet, smuggling question paper, threatening officials, manipulating documents, forceful entry/exit, using electronic devices, affixing morphed photographs, providing incorrect information, and any other malpractices covered under Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.

196. What is the punishment for using unfair means?

Candidate will be debarred up to 3 years from NTA examinations, liable for criminal action as per Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.

197. Will result be declared for candidates indulging in unfair means?

No, the result will be cancelled and not declared.

198. What happens to candidates appearing from centre other than allotted?

Their result will be cancelled and not declared.

199. When will OMR sheets and responses be displayed?

After the conduct of examination, NTA will display scanned images of OMR Answer Sheets and recorded responses on the website.

200. Can candidates challenge OMR grading?

Yes, candidates can submit representation against OMR grading by paying ₹200/- per question challenged.
