Xian Jiaotong University

Introduction

In 1921, Jiaotong University was renamed after Nanyang College which was established in the late 19^th century. According to the State Council decision, the university has been relocated to Xi’an in 1956 and same year its renamed Xi’an Jiaotong University. In 2000, Xi’an Medical University (Former name) has merged with Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) and it was one of the 16 key universities in Republic of China.

Moreover, Xi’an Jiaotong University got as the List of World-class Universities and First-class Disciplines by the Ministry of Education of China. Now, XJTU is a comprehensive research university with 10 major categories of disciplines 26 schools (departments/centers), 20 affiliated teaching hospitals and 9 universities of undergraduate colleges.

Eligibility

• To getting admission at Nanjing University the applicants should score 200+ mark in NEET examination.
• The applicants should complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission.
• The candidate must score 70% marks in their 12th standard with CBSE / ISC or any other Equivalent Board of Examination.
• In science subjects like physics, chemistry and biology with have to get 70% of marks along with 70 marks in English.

Infrastructure

Xian Jiaotong University is spread over with the 4 major campuses. They are as Xingqing campus, Yanta campus, Qujiang campus and the Western China campus. It covers the total area of about 5.33 million square meters. And the total building construction area is 4.2 million square meters. Xian Jiaotong University offers 10 different types of courses in the field of education. They are as science, medicine, economics, management, humanities, law, philosophy, engineering, art and education. The University campus has 27 schools, 9 undergraduates colleges with university and 19 affiliated teaching hospitals.

Xian University has 3,072 full-time faculties includes 210 professors, 71 associate professors, 430 staffs, 110 faculties which they provides good resources to the student’s studies and research. The school of foreign studies are located in the Shaw Yifu Building. The international student’s buildings are equipped with advanced education systems with modern multimedia interpretation training system. Xian University offers a transport facility which is connected with all the campuses.

Library

Xian University offers library facilities for the benefit of the students. The library consists of more than 30,000 volumes of books and dozens of academic journals. The “Qian Xuesen Library” is located on the Xingqing campus, it spread overs with 40,000 square meters. It consists of 3,518 capacity of reading seats. The library collections have 5.63 million books, over 10,000 newspapers and periodicals. The library offers digital collections too. It has 320 electronic resources. Also, it has 1.6 millions of e-books in Chinese and the other foreign languages.

Facilities

Hostel

Xian University provides accommodation to the students, for who needed the facilities. International students are basically lived in the Xingqing and Yanta campus. In Yanta campus building has four dormitories for the students. The dormitory buildings are nearly close to the campus. This is where medical students are lived. There are two types of dormitories available for the benefit of the students, it consists of single & double rooms. The hostel buildings are equipped with all kind of amenities. These are the facilities available in the hostel as study rooms, activity rooms, canteen, common kitchen & common laundry room for the usage of the students.

Food

Indian foods are available in the Xian University, for Indian students. There is canteens & cafes are available in Xingqing and Yanta campus which is close to the student’s dormitories. Those canteens are serving the Indian foods, Chinese foods, Korean foods also Western types of foods too. Each of the hostel building has a common kitchen facility for the self-cooking students, it has all types of kitchen amenities. Transport facilities are provided inside of the Xingqing and Yanta campus for the student’s benefit. It only takes three minutes for students can reach the canteen and the other facilities from the dormitories.

Sports

Xian Jiaotong University offers all kind of sports & game facilities to its students. The student’s hostels are located nearly close to the sports field. So, that student can play their games at any time as their wish. In recent years, the Jiaotong University students are participating Regional level of games in China. Also, they won so many prizes and awards. That’s why sports & games were a part of the student’s curriculum at Xian University.

This university offers various sports and game event to the benefit of the students. These are the games offered by Jiaotong University, they are as football, basketball court, volleyball, table – tennis court and indoor & outdoor games. Athletic games like track events also provided in Xian. All of the sporting events were played in the large playground, it is located on the Xian campus.

Affiliated Hospitals

There are 20 Affiliated Hospitals are associated with Xian Jiaotong University(XJU). The First Affiliated Hospital is founded in the year of 1956. The Affiliated Hospital of Xian Jiaotong University formerly known as Comprehensive Tertiary Class – A hospital. From now these years it has been made tremendous progress in the fields of medical treatment & education. The First Affiliated Hospital has a total capacity of 2497 beds for the benefit of the students and patients.

The Second Affiliated Hospital has more than 3,600 staff including 165 professors and 260 associated professors. It has a total capacity of 2300 beds for the benefit of the students and patients. There are more than 79,000 inpatients and 32,000 outpatients are treated in those hospitals. Those hospitals are equipped with advanced high-Tech medical equipment for treating the patients and it helps for practical classes for students.

How to Reach

The Xian Jiaotong University is located Xian city and it’s the capital of Shaanxi Region.  The Xian city is one of the oldest and ancient capitals in the People’s Republic of China. The city is well connected with all the region by road as well as rail network. The Xian has a Xianyang International Airport and its connected with other countries and has a direct flight service from India, Indira Gandhi International Airport Delhi to Xianyang International Airport with travelling duration of 9:10hrs. The Airport from the university at a distance of 42.9km with travelling duration 50 minutes.

Xian city has a metro rail service and Xian Railway Station is nearest station of 5.1 km distance and can reach 17 minutes to the university. In Addition, Xian Bus Station is situated 6 km distance with the reaching time of 12 minutes to the university and bus service facility available around a clock.
