Q.Does CMC Vellore admit students through agents or agencies?

A.No. The college does not admit students through agents or agencies. The public is cautioned not to be lured by any person offering admission.

Q.When does the online application for the MNW category start?

A.23rd February 2026.

Q.What is the last date for submission of online applications for the MNW category?

A.30th March 2026.

Q.What is the last date for Open category (General Merit) applications?

A.Two weeks after the NEET UG 2026 results are declared.

Q.What is the last date for sending supporting documents?

A.4th April 2026.

Q.What is the last date for receipt of Minority Network certification forms?

Q.How many seats are available for the MBBS course?

A.Total seats are variable. Distribution: 23 (Open/Management), 8 (Minority Network), 2 (CMC Staff), 10 (20% State Christian Minority), and 30 (30% Govt. Quota).

Q.Do MBBS applicants also have to apply to any other body besides CMC?

A.Yes. All candidates must also apply to the Tamil Nadu Selection Committee for the counselling process.

Q.What is the duration of the MBBS course?

A.4 years 6 months + 1 year of compulsory rotating internship.

Q.What is the age criteria for admission?

A.Candidates should have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December 2026.

Q.What is the minimum NEET-UG 2026 percentile required?

A.A minimum of the 50th percentile in the NEET-UG 2026 examination.

Q.What is the minimum aggregate marks required in Class 12?

A.General category: 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology combined. For BC, MBC, SC/ST: 40%.

Q.If I studied abroad, how is my eligibility determined?

A.Based on Association of Indian Universities guidelines. You must also obtain an Eligibility Certificate from Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.

Q.What is the application fee for MBBS under management quota ?

A.Total Rs. 1700/- (Rs. 1200 administrative + Rs. 500 registration). Additional courses are Rs. 500 each.

Q.Do I need to send a hard copy of the application form?

A.No. Only send required enclosures (Caste certificate/Minority Network forms) by post where applicable.

Q.What is the total fee for the 1st year of MBBS?

A.Rs. 84,330 (to be paid at registration). Hostel deposit is an additional Rs. 10,000.

Q.What are the approximate monthly living expenses?

A.Approximately Rs. 8,000 per month.

Q.What is the service obligation for MBBS students?

A.All students (Management & Govt quota) must serve in an area of need for a minimum of two years after completing the course.

Q.What is Code 62 (UCRC)?

A.A category for Christian candidates not eligible for recommendation by member organizations. They apply directly to CMC for Minority Network consideration.

Q.Is there a separate service agreement for Minority Network candidates?

A.Yes (Annexure IX), guaranteeing two years of service for the recommending organisation or an alternative appointed by the College.
