Critical Notice: Discontinuation & Penalty Clauses

What is the Discontinuation Fee after the permitted resignation date?

A penalty of Rs. 10,00,000/- (Ten Lakhs) must be paid by Demand Draft to the Selection Committee if a candidate leaves in Round 2 or later.

What is the duration of the MBBS course?

5½ years, which includes one year of Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship (CRRI).

Is Hepatitis-B vaccination mandatory for admission?

Yes, all candidates must be vaccinated before admission and produce the certificate as per Annexure X.

How do I register for counseling after the merit list is out?

Log in using your credentials and pay a non-refundable Registration Fee of Rs. 500/- online before Round 1, Round 3, or the Stray Round.

Is there a limit on the number of choices I can fill?

No, you can submit as many choices as you wish in your preferred order.

What happens if I don’t lock my choices?

Choices are automatically locked according to the schedule. If you fill zero choices, no seat will be allotted.

Can locked choices be changed by the Selection Committee?

No. Locked choices are final and cannot be altered by anyone.

Do I lose my Round 1 seat if I participate in Round 2?

No, you retain it if you already joined. However, if you are reallotted a better college in Round 2, your Round 1 seat is automatically canceled.

What documents are required for native TN students (Case I)?

Nativity Certificate, Community Certificate, Proof of study VI to XII, and Parent’s Community Certificate.

Is “Free Exit” allowed in Round 1?

Yes. You can exit without joining the college or forfeit of fees in Round 1 and remain eligible for further rounds.

What is the penalty for not joining in the Stray Round?

Forfeiture of Security Deposit and debarment from the medical admission process for one academic year.

When is the Security Deposit refunded?

Refunds are initiated automatically within 45-60 days after the final counseling round concludes, sent to the account in your application.

Can I get a refund of the Security Deposit if I share my password?

Password sharing is strictly discouraged. Security deposits are only refunded if the candidate is eligible according to the rules, regardless of password issues.

How to retrieve a forgotten password?

Use the ‘Forgot Password’ link and provide the security question and answer used during registration.

Does the Selection Committee pay interest on the Security Deposit?

No interest is paid on any refundable deposits.

What if I download the allotment order but don’t report (Round 3)?

Downloading the order is considered “Joined.” Failure to report will be treated as discontinuation, requiring the Rs. 10 Lakh penalty.

Are original documents necessary for admission?

Yes. Failure to produce original documents at the time of college reporting will result in immediate cancellation of selection.

Where is the official counseling venue?

Most counseling rounds are online; however, physical verification (for special categories) takes place at the Selection Committee office in Kilpauk, Chennai.
