To get MBBS seat under 15% All India Quota, candidates should register and select their choices of the medical college. They need to go through 5 step counselling process listed below.
There will be two rounds of counselling conducted by MCC. Steps 3,4 and 5 are repeated for the second round of counselling. If seat is not allotted during the second round counselling, security deposit amount will be refunded.
You need to know medical college types, college ranking, tuition fees, seat matrix, quota, reservation, domicile rules, counselling rounds, state rank list, choice filling, allotment rules, up-gradation rules, compulsory service bond, penalty, intern stipend, career prospects, last year closing rank cut off, in order to avoid making any mistake during counselling.
All students who have qualified in NEET UG exam conducted by the National Testing Ageny (NTA) are eligible to apply for All India Quota Medical Counselling. NEET 2019 qualifying score for unreserved category was 134. For OBC/SC/ST candidates, it was 107.
All Eligible candidates should download the NEET Rank letter from the official NTA website. NEET Rank letter contains NEET score, All India Rank, Category Rank. Eventhough all qualified students are eligible, students with All India Rank less than the total number of All India Quota seats have good chance to get MBBS seat.
Students of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu Kashmir were not eligible to participate for All India Quota Counselling few years back. For 2020, students from all states and union territory are eligible.
For Unreserved candidates, non refundable registration fees of Rs 1000 should be paid to participate in the All India Counselling. For SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH candidates, registration fees is Rs 500.
Apart from the registration fees, candidates should pay refundable security amount. This security amount will be adjusted against the college tuition fees if candidate is allotted seat. If seat is not allotted, this security amount is refunded by Medical Counselling Committee to the candidate bank account.
For Unreserved candidates, the refundable security amount is Rs.10,000. For SC/ST/OBC/PH, it is Rs 5000. For example any OBC/SC/ST/PH candidate will pay Rs 5000 + Rs 500 = Rs. 5,500 at the time of registration.
10% of MBBS seats will be reserved for GEN- EWS (General Economically Weaker Section) category students. General category(Unreserved) candidates whose family gross annual income is below Rs 8 Lakhs can claim EWS Reservation Category.
15% MBBS seats are reserved for SC (Scheduled Caste) students.
7.5% MBBS seats are reserved for ST (Scheduled Tribe) students.
27% of MBBS Seats are reserved for OBC (Other Backward Class) non creamy layer students only in medical colleges run by central government. Out of the 267 government medical colleges participating in All India Counselling, OBC reservation is available only in 16 medical colleges run by central government.
67.5 % of MBBS seats in colleges run by state government and 40.5% of seats in medical colleges run by central government are available for GN(General or Unreserved) candidates.
5% of MBBS seats are reserved for PH (Persons with Disability) candidates. PH reservation is horizontal reservation which means, 5% of seats in all reservation categories such as GN, EWS, SC, ST are reserved for candidates with disability from that reservation category.
NEET 2020 will be the only entrance exam for all medical colleges in India including AIIMS and JIPMER. There are 1205 MBBS seats in AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences). There is no state quota in AIIMS like IIT as it is run by central government. Out of these 1205 seats, 609 MBBS seats are available for unreserved category students, 324 are reserved for OBC, 180 for SC and 87 for ST category candidates.
In case of JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education and Research) , there are 200 MBBS seats, 150 seats at the Puducherry campus and 50 seats are available at the Karaikal campus. JIPMER has state quota reservation of 27% for Puducherry candidates under GN/OBC/SC/ST categories. The total number of MBBS seats available under All India Quota is 140.
According to last year All India Quota seat matrix released by Medical Counselling Committee, counselling was conducted for 4887 MBBS seats. Out of these seats, 3524 was allotted for General category students, 701 MBBS seats were available for SC category students and 348 MBBS seats for ST students. As OBC reservation is applicable only in central govt run institutions, there were only 91 MBBS seats for this reservation category. A total of 223 MBBS seats were allotted to Physically handicapped candidates of GN/OBC/SC/ST reservation category.
As the counselling process is conducted online, all original documents along with attested photocopies are only required at the time of joining the allotted Medical College .

Maharashtra does not allow other state students to participate in state govt quota in private colleges. it started allowing other state students to participate in institutional quota. the tuition fees range between 30 to 40 lakhs/year for institutional quota.

Yes. Madhya Pradesh allows other students to participate for management quota seats in private colleges but the preference is given to local candidates. if any seat is not filled, then other state students get chance..
