Introduction

Cebu Institute of Medicine (CIM) was founded in 1957, it is a branch of a medical school managed independently from Velez College in the Philippines. They are located side by side on Rua F. Ramos. CIM is a private non-profit higher education institution. Officially recognized by the Committee on Higher Education in the Philippines. Infrastructure

Cebu Institute of Medicine has excellent leadership provided by previous administrations. The faculty of Cebu Medical has a long history of providing excellent doctors in the provision of national and international health services and positively impacting the future of health. CIM is a 5 storied building with well-structured campus facilities. Three classrooms with a 50-student capacity in each, occupy each floor. It also houses three air-conditioned amphitheaters with a 150 seating capacity each. It has initiated a group-based learning approach to complement the BPL system and intensified educational approaches to outcomes-based education. The Medical College was conceived in the principles of virtue and service and governed by the best tradition and practice of a skilled medical institution. CIM is known to make graduates with the best doctors and leaders in the community. Small group discussions and lectures allow students to deepen their medical knowledge. The Institution has a medical library, conference room, and three amphitheaters that can accommodate about 120 students. Fully equipped with air-conditioned classrooms, refurbished medical library and resource center, and complete learning and laboratory facilities. It has well-equipped laboratories for the main topics, well-organized classrooms, and a social lounge that occupies the entire wing of the fifth floor of the building. The Clinical Epidemiology Unit was created to provide medical students, interns, resident training, and physicians training with the necessary guidance applicable to their research activities in their research activities field of medicine.

Hostel

Cebu Institute of Medicine has separate hostel facilities for both male and female students. Here North and South Indian foods are provided. It has hostels both on and off-campus. The rooms are shared by students. Hostel Is Fully Furnished And Equipped With all needed facilities. Laundry facilities are available. Study rooms and recreation rooms are available with internet and Wifi access facilities. The canteen and cafeteria are available.

The main hospital of the Cebu Institute of Medicine is General Hospital Cebu Velez, also located in F. Ramos. The General Hospital in Cebu (Velez) is a hospital with 200 beds, which serves at least 8,000 patients a year. It also has a 30-bed nursery and was recognized as the first private hospital for mothers and babies in the Philippines. Currently implementing shared accommodation. The hospital also maintains an intensive care unit, modern laboratories, a radiology department, and a rehabilitation department. Velez was founded as a private clinic in 1946. It continues to provide high-quality patient care as it expands to its current capacity as a tertiary hospital. It has a full laboratory and x-ray facilities as well as services. The didactic and clinical departments of CIM include medicine, surgery, pediatrics, OB-GYN as well as ophthalmology and ENT. The clinic, dentist office, and CVGH conference room occupy the ground floor of the CIM building. This is one of the notable hospitals which is servicing the surrounding places around its side.
