Rajasthan State Medical Counselling Procedure

MBBS Admission Counselling for Rajasthan is conducted by NEET UG Medical and Dental Admission Counselling Board-SMS Medical College-Jaipur-Rajasthan. The counselling includes MBBS Seats in government and private medical colleges located in the state of Rajasthan. Except NRI quota seats, only Rajasthan domicile students are eligible to apply.

Reservation is applicable for government and payment seats in all private medical colleges in Rajasthan.

Counselling Registration:

  • Go to URL https://sso.rajasthan.gov.in/signin and Click on Registration if student don’t have SSO ID.
  • Click Registration button to create SSO id using aadhar/facebook/gmail account.
  • Login to SSE to get list of all the applications is displayed. Under Citizen tab, click on HTE image.
  • Select Organization as “Directorate of Medical Education”
  • Select Application as “NEET UG Medical/Dental Admission”
  • Fill Application Form details which includes NEET UG Roll number, Date of Birth, NEET score and NEET Percentile.
  • After you enter the NEET details, your name, fathers name and mothers name will be displayed.
  • You have to enter gender, email-id, mobile, domicile state, caste category, family income, marks, etc
  • Pay Counselling Fees (Rs 2000) online using netbanking, credit card or debit card. Alternatively you can download challan and visit your nearest e-mitra counter to pay the fee.
  • After you pay the counselling fees, fill in the required details and click save and continue.
  • Document Upload:
    • Photograph (image of size 20kb to 50 kb size)
    • Signature (image of size 20kb to 50kb size)
    • Xth marksheet (image/PDF file of size 100 kb to 150 kb)
    • XII marksheet (image/PDF file of size 100 kb to 150 kb)
    • Disability Certificate if applicable
    • WDP/WPP,ST certificate if applicable
  • Download the application form in PDF format for future reference.

Counselling Registration

Publication of Merit List: State Rank list, PWD Rank list, Defence Merit List, MBC, SC,ST ,STA, NRI Rank list.

Document Verification

Choice Filling: You need to pay Rs 10000 (half for SC/ST/OBC/MBC candidates) for government college and Rs 1 Lakh for private medical colleges. Candidates are requested to fill the college preferences carefully after checking the Fees and other college details of the respective college.

Report to SMS Medical College-Jaipur: Students who are satisfied with the allotted medical college, should visit SMS Medical college located at Jaipur during first round counselling. They should verify/submit their original documents, demand draft of the prescribed fees and 2 copies of application form along with self-attested photo copies.

Reporting at Allotted Medical College: While reporting for admission, please carry all the relevant certificates/documents in original and also submit an undertaking that the submitted documents are in original. These original documents will be kept with the joined medical college till completion of the course.

Counselling Rounds

Rajasthan state quota counselling committee conducts three rounds of counselling for MBBS Admission. They are

  1. First Round counselling
  2. Second Round counselling(Online): Candidates allotted a seat in Round 2 (fresh allotment / up gradation) who do not join their Round 2 allotted seat or resign in due course of time will have to forfeit their registration fee
  3. Mop up Round(Offline): Applications are invited based on All India Basis.

After Mop up round, if there are any unfilled seats, it will be filled based on the All India NEET merit list and students from any state are allowed to take admission.

Upgrade

All candidates who joined seat in first round should opt as ‘YES or NO’ under Upgrade to Participate in second Round option.

Candidates who are satisfied with the allotted college and want to retain the same allotted college, they need not fill choices during Round 2 and they should choose option ‘NO’.

Forfeiture of Fees

The candidates who exit (do not join the allotted college in the first round of counselling OR who resign after joining of first round allotment) will be considered for second round of counseling.

The candidates who exit in Round 1 / who exit with forfeiture in Round 2 will be considered for mop-up round of counseling (with fresh application form).

Those who applied but were not allotted a seat in first round as well as second round will be considered for mop-up round of counseling (without fresh application form i.e. need not fill the application form again).

Candidate who has been allotted a seat in Round 2 may exit (before the last date for reporting for Round 2) with forfeiture.

Bond

The candidates selected in a Govt. Medical College will have to submit a bond of commitment to serve the State Government for 2 years, amounting to Rs. 5.0 lakhs (Rupees five lakhs). If the candidate leaves the course after second round of counseling (before completion of the course) due to any circumstances then also the bond of Rs. 5.0 lakhs (Rupees five lakhs) will be applicable.

Conditions relating to bond etc. (applicable for private colleges)
At the time of reporting, the selected candidates will have to submit a bond / bank guarantee as applicable. For details, refer website of respective private colleges / contact college office.

Eligibility to Participate Rajasthan State Medical Counselling

  • Candidates should secure a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible to apply.
  • As on 31-Dec-2020, candidates should have completed 17 years of age.
  • Candidates belong to the SC/ST category, they should have obtained 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. PWD candidates should take 45% to become eligible.

To Claiming the Nativity & Domicile

  • Father or Mother of the candidate should have continuously resided in Rajasthan state for period of last 10 years and the candidate should have studied for at least 5 years during the same period in Rajasthan
  • The candidate is son or daughter of retired or serving employee of Government of Rajasthan, All Indian Services working on State Cadres of Rajasthan who served for more than 3 years in Rajasthan state government.
  • The candidate is son or daughter of retired or serving permanent employee of Govt. Undertaking / Corporation / / Municipal Bodies / State University / Rajasthan Secondary Board of Education / Panchayat Samiti / Co-operative bodies, duly constituted by the Rajasthan Government who worked for at least 3 years of service.
  • Candidate is son or daughter of a Serving employee(permanent) of Indian Defense as well as Para military forces who is currently posted in Rajasthan state at the time of admission.
  • No domicile requirement for NRI quota seats only.

For NRI Quota seat allotment, priority shall be given to candidate having ancestral background of the State of Rajasthan by own/parents/Grandparents resided in Rajasthan State for at least 5 years. After that, remaining Vacant NRI seats will be allotted/ filled by the candidates of NRI belonging to other states. Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) are also allowed for admission under NRI Quota.

Category Seat Reservations

Reservation in admission to MBBS course for the candidates of Rajasthan for various communal categories are given below. 

Vertical Reservation

EWS – 10%

Other Backward Classes (OBC) – 21% (Non Creamy Layer)

More Backward Class(MBC) – 5% ( Non Creamy Layer)

Scheduled Tribes (ST) – 12% (45% of this is reserved for tribal area)

Scheduled Caste (SC) – 16%

Widow / Wards of Defence Personnel(WDP) + Widow / Wards or Para Military Personnel(WPP) – 1%

Horizontal Reservation

Female – 25%

Person With Disabilities (PWD) – 5%

MBBS Seat Matrix – Rajasthan State

Rajasthan medical college 24 MBBS seats, 4 in each State-run Medical College of the total 6 Government Medical college of Rajasthan will be reserved for candidates selected under the Central Government pool.

Required Documents for Medical Counselling

The candidate should provide the following Original Certificates after allotment at SMS Medical College-Jaipur and along with attested photocopies to the college during joining after allotment.

  • Date of Birth: 10th mark sheet or equivalent certificate showing date of birth

  • All marks sheets of class 11 and class 12 if passed in more than one attempt
  • Photo ID(any one of Driving licence, PAN, Voter ID,School ID, 12th class admit card , Aadhar card)
  • Caste Certificate

Additional documents for candidates applying for NRI seats

  • If the Sponsor NRI/OCI/PIO is currently residing in India, a proof in the form of certificate issued by the Indian embassy in the concerned Country/Ministry of external affairs, Government of India for this purpose is essential alongwith undertaking in the prescribed Proforma-6 on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 50/- executed by Sponsor NRI /OCI/PIO and duly notarized. (or) If the Sponsor NRI/OCI/PIO is residing outside India, a duly notarized undertaking in the prescribed Proforma-7 executed by the sponsor and notarized by the Notary Public of the foreign country where the sponsor resides being submitted by the sponsor, it be treated as sufficient as to the factum of the residence of the sponsor. NRI undertaking must have been issued on or after date of NEET 2020 examination i.e. 05.05.2019.
  • Father or Mother or Guardian shall also submit an undertaking to declare the relationship between Sponsor and candidate mentioning the address of parents or local guardian.
