The S.R. Educational and Charitable Trust are a Public Charitable Trust formed on 2002 with the main objectives of establishing medical, dental, engineering colleges and other educational institutions, hospitals, training centres, counselling centres, and all other facilities as are calculated to be of use to the public at large. The Trust was founded by Late, Sri S Raghavan, who was an eminent and accomplished personality hailing from Varkala.
The expertise and quest for furthering excellence in professional Healthcare education persuaded him to start the dental college & hospital. The main aim was to provide good health and impart the quality of dental education to and well being to all sections of the society.

SR Medical College offers only UG MBBS and annual intake seats of 100 nos each year as per the MCI. The total of 100 seats are divided as 85 for Management Quota Seats and the other 15 for NRI Quota Seats. The SR Medical College is located in a sprawling 40 Acres of land and is with an annual intake of 100 Students for MBBS course and is provisionally affiliated to the Kerala University of Health Science.

Eligibility: 17 years of age or above as on 31-Dec of the admission year. The maximum age limit to Study MBBS course is 25 years. All Higher Secondary School Students with 10+2 in science stream including biology or biotechnology along with Physics and Chemistry with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible(In case of SC/ST, 40% in board exams; 45% for OBC Category)
