Medical College To Avoid During Choice Filling Or College Selection

During MBBS Admission counselling, you need to specify your medical college preferences for choice filling. The order of preferences of medical colleges decide which medical college is allotted.

You need to be careful while selecting colleges because many state counselling do not allow choice filling during 2nd round of counselling or further rounds. So, before first round choice filling, you need to know the quality of medical colleges in order to specify the college choices in the correct order.

1. Medical Colleges With Rural Service Bond > 1 Year

Government Medical Colleges in Assam asks students to sign service bond for 3 years. Even though Tamil Nadu government asks for 5 years service bond, they will ask only in case of any emergency.

2.Medical Colleges Which Charge high tuition fees in lieu of bond

5. Private Medical Colleges Without State Quota

Uttar Pradesh and Bihar Private Medical Colleges do not have any state quota. They have management quota and NRI quota seats only. Because of this, only low scoring students will be joining the college which pushes the average NEET score cut off close to the qualifying score. This is the reason why Uttar Pradesh and Bihar NEET score cut off are close to 200.

6. Medical Colleges Without PG Courses

The number of PG courses is one of the important parameter on which quality of medical education and clinical exposure can be judged. You get guidance from PG residents during clinical rotation as well as get guidance for NEET PG preparation.

7. New Medical Colleges in Permitted Status

When new medical college is started, National Medical Commission gives permission and inspects the medical college every year to see the improvement in average outpatients per day, total beds, infrastructure, facilities and faculties. After 5 years, if new medical colleges reaches mandated facilities, then NMC gives recognized status. It is always better to join medical colleges in recognized status compared to permitted status.
