1. NEET Eligibility

• Candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognized board/university.
• Candidates must have completed 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Biotechnology with English in same board.
• General category students must score 50%, SC/ST/OBC candidates 40%, and PwD candidates 45% in PCB subjects to meet the eligibility criteria.
• The candidate must be at least 17 years old on or before 31 December of the admission year. There is no upper age limit for appearing in NEET UG.

2. NRI Quota:

• This helps NRI ‘s pursue their medical dreams in their home country, but its with a different admission pathway and higher fees segment.For Eligibility to claim this seats candidate need to be an Indian national or a person of Indian origin (PIO)/Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) who is residing abroad.
• More importantly, they must have appeared for and qualified in the NEET UG exam of current year, NEET score is absolutely crucial for the NRI quota. Also either candidate or their parents, or their financial sponsors must have an NRI status.
• Each state’s counseling authority will have specific definitions and rules for NRI quotas, so always check the information bulletin (prospectus) of the particular state counseling.

3. NRI Process

• Once candidate have got their NEET score and hold the NRI criteria, they will apply through the respective state’s medical counseling authority, and through MCC (Medical Counseling Committee) for deemed universities. Then be prepared for rigorous document verification proof of NRI status, financial sponsorship, and academic records are paramount.
• Fees under the NRI quota are significantly higher, often paid in US dollars, compared to general category seats. Make sure respective colleges fee structure and understand the financial commitment before applying.
