Private and Deemed colleges usually have 15% seats under NRI quota in Indian colleges with separate counseling process.

1. Private Counseling:

Private medical colleges in most Indian states offer a dedicated NRI quota for eligible NRI, OCI, PIO candidates, and their sponsored wards. 15% reservation from whole seat of the college, over 140 private colleges are offering NRI seats in India. Admission is based on NEET qualification, followed by centralized state counseling as per regulatory norms.

NRI quota fees are generally higher than management or government seats, but they provide an important pathway for NRI students to pursue MBBS in India. Fee are usually collected USD or Indian rupees or equal Indian amount of USD fee range.

2. Deemed Counseling:

Deemed medical colleges in all Indian states offer a dedicated NRI quota for eligible NRI, OCI, PIO candidates, and their sponsored wards. 15% reservation from the whole seat of the college are provided for NRI. 59 Deemed Medical colleges including 2 women’s colleges are offering NRI seats in India. Admission is done based on NEET qualification, through followed by centralized MCC counseling as per regulatory norms and rules. Malla Reddy Medical College for Women Hyderabad and Symbiosis Medical College for Women Pune are those women’s colleges; these colleges provide seats only for NRI girl candidates.

Deemed colleges NRI quota fees are generally higher than management or NRI seats of private colleges, but they provide an important pathway for NRI students to pursue MBBS in India. Fee are usually collected USD or Indian rupees or equal Indian amount of USD fee range. To get NRI seat in Deemed colleges candidates status should be mentioned as NRI in NEET application or they have to convert them self into NRI status before filling choice from MCC counseling. MCC will provide this NRI conversion opportunity before each round happen. So candidates should be more aware of the counseling schedule and events.

Deemed NRI seats are allotted to the candidates in priority phase accordingly Sponsorship. First Priority will be available to the candidates who hold sponsorship from their parents and apart from parent if any candidates get sponsorship from relatives they will be consider for second priority.
