Nepal is situated in South Asia, between China in the north and India in the south. the total land area spread across 147,181 square kms. Nepal country can be divided into three geographical regions they are the Himalayan region, mid hill region, and Terain region. Nepal also called as “water towers of South Asia” with 6,000 rivers that depend on snow-fed or rain.

The Nepali food has been influenced by Indian and Tibetan styles of cooking. Nepalis do not eat beef, because Hindus worship the cow. Cow is the national animal of Nepal.
The Nepali foods are dal(lentil soup), boiled rice and tarkari (curried vegetables), with achar (pickle). Curried meat is very popular, but is saved for special occasions, as it is relatively more expensive. Rotis (flatbread) and dhedo (boiled flour) also make meals in some homes. Momos (steamed or fried dumplings) is one of the most popular snacks among Nepalis.

Nepal has nearly 101 ethnic groups of people speaking over 92 languages in their locality. Most of the ethnic groups have owned their mother tongues. People who live in the northern region of the Himalayas are Tibetan-speaking peoples and Several ethnic groups live in the middle hills and valleys.
Kathmandu Valley represents a cultural diversity in Nepal. The natives of the Kathmandu Valley peoples are the Newars. Terai People is one of the main ethnic groups in Nepal, they speak north Indian dialects like Maithili, Bhojpuri. Hinduism and Buddhism religions are followed by Nepalis. Nepal follows these religions like Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Christianity, Jainism, Sikhism. The majority of Nepalis are either Hindus or Buddhism and also religious harmony is one of the unique features of Nepal.
