The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts NEET counselling at the All India level for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in government medical colleges, along with deemed universities, central universities, and other participating institutions. The counselling process begins after the declaration of NEET results and is conducted completely online.

State counselling authorities conduct separate counselling for 85% state quota seats, which usually starts after or alongside the All India counselling rounds. Candidates must participate in both (if eligible) to maximize their chances of securing a seat.

• Candidates who score above the NEET qualifying cutoff are eligible to participate in NEET UG, PG, and SS counselling processes.
• The NEET merit list is prepared shortly after the result declaration and forms the basis for seat allotment.
• All India Counselling is generally conducted in multiple rounds: Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round.
• Each round has different rules for choice filling, seat acceptance, and exit policies, which students must understand carefully.
