Infrastructure

• JIPMER covers an area of 192 acres.The institution houses one administrative block, seven hospital blocks, one academic center, one nursing college, seven accessory services buildings and four residential complexes.
• Library – The Central Library has 3693 books in the publishing section and 3104 books in the reference section.
• Approximately 6343 books have been arranged at the back end of the publishing section chronologically from 1971 to 1990 for the subcommittee’s study on the condemnation of the removal of old obsolete books.
• There is a separate book bank that provides books on a regular basis through an additional membership card issued to SC / ST students.
• Upcoming conferences, competition leaflets, seminars, workshops and circulars are displayed on the notice board of the Central Library for users information.
• It is maintained by the Central Library’s Assistant Library and Information Officer.
• There is 268 (two hundred and sixty-eight) journals subscribed in 2011 from national and international publishers.The library has 2783 WHO publications.
• There is a separate section for maintaining dissertations and approximately 1900 dissertations/dissertations are organized.
• Out Of the 268 print editions subscribed by Total Library Solutions (DLS), the institution offers free online access to 47 print editions published by various foreign publishers.
• Seminar Hall – The Auditorium Organizing Conference / CME / Workshop with State or Regional or National or International Associations / Associations.

• It is located within the complex and is accessible from the main road of Pondicherry to the Tindivanam Highway.

  The hostel provides a proper water supply and drinking water arrangement.
• There are 14 hoste complexes where UG and PG students, Nurses, staff, resident doctors, and interns.
  The hostel rooms provide Single Occupancy, Double Occupancy, and Triple Occupancy.
• Sports and Recreation – JIPMER Puducherry campus has indoor and outdoor games with their courts like table tennis court, Badminton court, volleyball court, and tennis court.
• Sports equipment for throwing the ball, basketball, carom, chess, volleyball, yoghurt, shuttlecock, cricket, football, and table tennis are provided to students.
• There is also a recreation rooms with Boys and girls study rooms, TV , Gym and Laundry rooms for girls and boys are available.

• The hospital has more than 40 departments to service patients.
• The hospital currently has a capacity of 2059 beds and has many inpatient wings.
• The average daily OPD visit is over 5000 and the annual OPD visit is over 15 million.
  The average daily EMS attendance is over 700 and the annual attendance is over 2 lakh.
• Annual enrollment is over 60,000, and the hospital conducts more than 3.5 million trials a year.
• In addition to the main hospital, Super Specialty Block, Emergency Medical Services, Women and Children’s Hospital and Regional Cancer Center provide sophisticated medical services to poor patients and patients from various districts of Pondicherry and various parts of Tamil Nadu from various parts of Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Orissa and Bihar.
