Delhi Medical College Landscape (2026)
Delhi features some of India’s top-ranked medical institutions. For the 2026-27 session, the seat distribution is approximately:

Central/Govt Institutions: ~1,492 seats across 10 colleges.

AIIMS New Delhi: ~132 seats (100% seats via MCC counselling).

Army College (ACMS): 100 seats reserved for wards of Army personnel.
Who Conducts Your Counselling?
Delhi counselling is unique because even the “State Quota” seats for many top colleges are handled by the central authority (MCC).
1. MCC (mcc.nic.in) Handles 85% State Quota for:
- MAMC, LHMC, UCMS (Delhi University affiliated)
- VMMC (Safdarjung), ABVIMS (RML), and ESIC Basaidarapur
2. IP University (ipu.ac.in) Handles 85% State Quota for:
- Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Medical College
- North Delhi Municipal Corp (NDMC) / Hindu Rao
- Army College of Medical Sciences (ACMS)

Delhi State Quota: Safe All India Ranks (AIR)
Competition in Delhi is the highest in India. To secure a seat under the DU/IPU 85% quota, aim for these AIR targets:
- General: Aim for AIR under 5,000
- OBC: Aim for AIR under 15,000
- SC: Aim for AIR under 60,000
- ST: Aim for AIR under 1,50,000
