• Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences (GAIMS) is the first public-private partnership (PPP) initiative between the Government of Gujarat and the Adani Education and Research Foundation.
• It was established in Bhuj in 2009 under the unique PPP model High Tech Medical College.
• The Medical college is part of the Initiative of Adani Group Corporate Social Responsibility.
• Also it was managed by the Adani Education and Research Foundation under the umbrella of the Adani Foundation.
• In 2004, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat laid the foundation stone of the Kachchi University Campus.
• The Krantiguru Shyamji Krishna Verma Kachchh University has commenced its academic and administrative activities at the campus from the academic year 2007-08.
• Kutch District Hospital, G.K.
• General Hospital, Bhuj collapsed after a major earthquake in January 2001.
• In the aftermath of the disaster, GOI decided to rebuild the hospital with the latest technology known as the Base Isolation based on EarthQuake Resistance Builder.

Infrastructure

• The entire campus is spread over a total area of 27 acres in the middle of the city of Bhuj.
• GAIMS has the Central Library with an area of 2400 sq.m.
• The library has more than 14,000 books and 110 international and national journals. The library has a modern computer lab with 40 computers and separate reading rooms for UG and PG students and staff.
• UG Students reading room has the capacity of over 300 students, the PG reading room has the capacity of 100 students and the staff reading room has the capacity of 40 persons.
• The Gujarat Adani Medical College has six lecture theaters with gallery types and Air conditioned.
• Out of these, 5 halls are used in a Medical College and another one is used in a Hospital.
• LC I, LC II, LC III and LC IV have a capacity of 180 students each.
• The LC V has a capacity of 375 students, the LC VI has the capacity of 200 students each.
• There is also one Examination hall available that serves as an auditorium for festival times.
• It is over 1200 square meters with a capacity of 810 students that can be accommodated.

Hostel

• The College offers a full fledged hostel facilities with accommodation fees including food and other recreational activities located on campus.
• Separate mess facilities for boys and girls are available within the hostel campus.
• There are 210 rooms for UG students, 75 rooms for Interns, 75 rooms for Resident & PG students and 40 rooms for Nurses available in the campus.  Gujarat Adani Medical College offers recreational facilities for students extra curricular.
• There is indoor sports such as table tennis, carrom and chess and Outdoor games such as cricket, football, ball Badminton, Throw ball, Basketball, Volleyball, and Athletics.
• The complex has a well-equipped gymnasium with well-trained staff at both of the boys and girls hostel.

Affiliated Hospitals

• G.K.General Hospital (GKGH) has over 750-bed capacity, 12 operation theaters, various intensive care units such as ICU, ICCU, PICU, NICU, RICU, MICU with total 58 beds, Modern Radiation Center 1.5 Tesla MRI machine, Mammography, 16 slice CT scan with modern multi-specialty facilities.
• G.K.General hospital has 12 Operation Theaters, 10 of which are for Major Operations and 2 for Minor Operations.

How to Reach

• The college is located at a distance of 2.6 km from the main bus station It takes 7 minutes to travel by bus.
• There is a railway station in Bhuj city which is well connected to the state and the rest of the country, about 4.6 km away from the college.
• Also, Bhuj Airport is 8.6 km from the college, about 17 minutes drive through  Railway Station Ring Road.
