Introduction 

Since its inception in 1984, the Rural Medical College has been the first in India to focus on community-based medical education, research and health care and to serve as a community-based hub. This is the culmination of the determined efforts of Sri Balasakev Vik Patil. The institution added improved access to tertiary and critical care for the rural poor. Annual intake allowed for the M.B.B.S program is 125. The courses offered are the perfect combination of community-based, problem-based learning with high quality medical reasons. The College has promoted international collaborations in all areas of motivation – medicine, education and research.The University was established in 1972 by Vithalrao Vikhe Patil who was the founder of the Co-operative Movement in India in Loni, a small village in Ahmednagar District (State of Maharashtra). The university’s parent organisation is Pravara Medical Trust.

The university is unique for most of the things its hold.. It specializes in medicine and health sciences with a focus on community and meaningful medical education, health care and research and a commitment to serve the community as a centre of excellence. Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam gave the compliments the foundation from his excellency who is the President of India for his pioneering work in the field of integrated rural development and lauded the participatory model of integrated rural development followed in Loni as a model for the development of rural India that provides urban facilities to all rural areas. This university has the same status as other legal universities in India.

MBBS Course

The MBBS course is a four and a half year period followed by a one-year compulsory residential internship. The lasting 12-month internship includes short courses in community health, medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, child health, orthopedics, emergency medicine, and various specialties. All these are according to the guidelines of the Medical Council of India. Admission to the MBBS program is based on the candidate marks obtained in the NEET-UG rank held by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Krishna Medical College Karad offers MBBS -Under Graduate Course with a total intake of 120 seats annually, and the seats are allotted through 15% for NRI quota and 85% for Management Quota.

Admission Procedure and Eligibility

Eligibility: 17 years of age or above as on 31-Dec of the admission year. The maximum age limit to Study MBBS course is 25 years. All Higher Secondary School Students with 10+2 in science stream including biology or biotechnology along with Physics and Chemistry with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible(In case of SC/ST, 40% in board exams; 45% for OBC Category)

Admission Procedure: It is compulsory for medical enthusiasts to appear for the National Eligibility and Entrance Examination (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) after 12th grade who wish to get MBBS admission. All the Government, Private, Central, and Deemed Universities will be based on NEET scores and the seats for all colleges/institutions/universities will be offered through counseling based on the eligibility Score/Rank, Preferences of colleges, and seats available.

Admission to RMC is done through All India Medical Counselling as NRI Quota 15 % of MBBS seats and  Management Quota  85% of MBBS seats.

The University’s Green Campus is located on 120 acres, on the Manmad – Nashik State Highway. The campus is beautifully planned and natural from an aesthetic and aesthetic point of view. The spacious environment has earned it the distinction of being the best medical complex in the country. The Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Karad has occupied the area of 12 acres and also has the room for further expansion.

The well-established university campus has spacious asphalt roads, gardens, children’s parks, community and health clubs, water treatment plants, underground drainage, well-lit street lights, intercom telephone and internet facilities and moderately comfortable residential apartments and uninterrupted electricity and supply of non-teaching Staff and utility premises. It is situated on a natural hill within the university campus, the ancient temple of the Hindu deity “Durga” is surrounded by dense vegetation and attracts both students and staff.

Library

The KMC Karad Learning Resource Center is growing into one of the fastest growing professional education and research recommendation libraries. The service was launched in 1984. All text details of books, magazines and CD-ROM databases can be accessed through the network throughout the campus. The library has a large number of printed documents, and to date, subscribes to more than 261 national and international journals. The library has established contacts with other organizations to exchange company publications and inter-library loan arrangements.
To stay up to date and provide the best services to students, the library has gone WiFi so that students can access the internet from the library at any time via wireless router.
The Learning Resource Center (LRC) is open year-round except on public holidays. The aims and objectives of the library, the library has developed its collection. Books, Reference Books, Magazines, Research Articles, Newspapers, Paper Clips, Audio Video Cassette, CD, Donation Books, University and College Publications.

Lecture Hall and Examination Hall

The Lecture & Examination Hall Complex is built over the area of 36768.36 sq.mtrs. There are seven Lecture Theatres available in the College and Hospital with good acoustics, Audio visual aids & Microphone. Lecture Hall(LC) 1 and 2 with 240 student capacity. LC 3 has the capacity of 350 students and LC 4,5 and 6 has the capacity of 350, 500 and 184 vice versa. LC 7 is in the hospital which has the capacity for 300 students with good lighting, Microphone and Audio visual aids.
The PIMS Auditorium has a capacity of 1200 with central AC and balcony. There are 3 Examination Halls available. Out of these, two with the total seating capacity of 250 students and One with seating capacity of 400 Students. It provides a Central Photographic section with Modern and well equipped facilities of studio, dark room etc.

The college campus offers such facilities to students, These are hygienic canteens, bacteria free water coolers, overseas students facilitation, academic and personal counseling, Mess, catering, ATMs, State Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Reservation counter for Rail/Road/Air to students, internet, xerox, salon and beauty parlor facilities are provided by the campus/township.

Hostel

Rural Medical College hostel has separate accommodation for bos and girls. Every hoste has the Hygienic and tasty mess facility in the hostel campus. Continuous electricity supply for the campus with six generator, Sanitation & Water supply, Adequate sanitary facilities, Safe and continuous water supply facilities are provided by the campus. Mess & Canteen facilities are available in the campus.. There is one canteen for staff and another two canteens for students. The hostel provides a common room for boys and girls with an area of 200 sq.m each. The boys and girls rooms are attached with a toilet.

Sports and Recreation

The PIMS campus provides Recreation facilities for students with Music, Television, Gymnasium, Indoor and outdoor games. There are outdoor games such as Lawn tennis, Basketball, volleyball, Badminton, Football, Cricket ground, swimming pool. It also offers a Lawn Tennis court, Badminton court and volleyball court. Indoor games like Chess, Carrom, and Table tennis are also conducted in the college. Modern Gymnasium provides a fit and healthy body to the students. A Physical Education Instructor is available in the gym.

The Institution began providing primary and secondary medical care in 1976 with a 100-bed general hospital. After then the hospital grew into a multi-disciplinary, super-specialty medical institution with 1275 beds with other ancillary facilities. The university offers sophisticated diagnostic and treatment facilities such as ultrasonography, MRI, CT scan, digital X-ray, color Doppler, cardiac monitors. Extensive specialist outpatient & diagnostic departments and inpatient wards are available with residential specialist medical and paramedical teams.

Departments

The hospital provides 24 hours a day by emergency and trauma care specialists. These services are enhanced with the latest detection features such as aggressive and non-invasive imaging techniques, displacement and other revitalization techniques.The central air-conditioned operation is performed on the premises with excellent operational and monitoring facilities for major and specialized surgeries including pediatric cardio-thoracic, facial maxillary, cardiothoracic, renal, laparoscopic, spinal, neurological,micro laryngeal, reconstructive and transplant surgeries. There are eight operation theaters available.
Advanced neonatal units and neonatal intensive care units ensure better salvation rates for preterm infants, neonates, infants and children. The intensive care unit has state-of-the-art monitoring and life support systems for advanced patient care. CCU has six-beds with state-of-the-art ventilators, multipara monitors, external cardiac pacemaker and 24-hour continuous Holder ECG monitoring, facilities for the needs of critically ill cardiac patients

Laboratory and Blood bank

The Central Medical Laboratory (CCL) specializes in pathology (pathological anatomy, hematology, cytology,), biochemistry and microbiology and meets the needs of patients. The hospital also serves as a referral center for pathologists and laboratories near CCL. The hospital’s blood bank is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for routine and specialized tests, including HIV testing (ELISA Reader) and blood transfusions for the preparation of blood components. Loni is a city and a municipal council in Ghaziabad district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, India. The nearest airport is Hindon Airport, which is far away11 km from Ghaziabad. Loni has a moderate road network connecting Delhi-Saharanpur road, which is served by UPSRTC buses. The city is located 12 km from ISBT Kashmiri Gate and Anand Vihar Terminal and 8 km from Ghaziabad.
