• Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences Kadapa was established in 2006 by the state of Andhra Pradesh and its main purpose of establishing this institute is to improve quality health care in this disadvantaged region and to provide access to medical education for all eligible students in the region.
• The RIMS Kadapa was built over a span of 14 months on 210 acres with closely monitoring the quality of construction and completing the project in a timely manner.
• In the past, Rims General Hospital was a secondary care hospital, that is a district hospital.
• Later It was transformed into a tertiary care hospital called Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences.
• During the current RIMS training phases the hospital remained on the same campus and was later relocated to the current campus.
• From its inception to the present, has undergone many developmental activities, an ongoing process.

RIMS’ college Examination hall is built-in a totally 931.16 sq.mt, these examination halls has 500 students seating capacity.
This Government Medical College has built with totally five lecture halls.
There are four Lecture halls available in College building with a capacity of 240 students in each.
One lecture hall is available with a seating capacity of 400 students in Hospital building.
These Lecture halls are built as gallery type with Audio and Video facilities.
This Medical College’s Central Library is built in 2500 sq.mt with reading rooms and stock rooms.
This Library working hour is 9 am to 8 pm and the reading room is available for 24 hours.
There are two reading rooms available in Inside and Outside.
