Uttar Pradesh State Medical Counselling Procedure

MBBS Admission Counselling for UttarPradesh is conducted by Director General of Medical Education and Training Uttar Pradesh . The counselling includes MBBS Seats in government and private medical colleges located in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Except government medical colleges, students from any Indian state are eligible to apply for private medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh.

Hostel fees for most of the private college is Rs 25000 per month.

Counselling for Benaras Hindu University (BHU) and Aligarh Muslim University(AMU) is conducted by Medical Counselling Committee Delhi through All India Quota Counselling.

Counselling Registration:

  • There are three phases of counselling and registration is allowed in all three phases of counselling. Registration begins before first, second and mopup round counselling. Candidates who have not registered in earlier rounds can register for the subsequent rounds. If candidate registers in earlier round, they are not required to register again for subsequent rounds.

Document Verification:All registered candidates must be present at the nodal centers for the verification of their original documents. There will be three phases of document verification which happens during every round of the counselling. Candidates should verify their documents again if they wish to participate in any particular round. Candidates can select document verification nodal center as per their convenience during registration.

Candidates are required to submit Demand Draft of security money during document verification. If DD is submitted in earlier phases they are not required to submit again.

Security amount is Rs 30000 for govt medical college and Rs 2 Lakhs for private medical college.

Choice Filling and Locking(Online)

First Round Allotment:

Candidates who are allotted seat in Ist or IInd round will have to secure admission on or before last date of admission of that round at Admission nodal center mentioned in the allotment order by depositing DD of Tuition fee with original documents. After this, candidates should confirm their admission by paying other fees and necessary document at the allotted college.

Freeze (lock): If student is satisfied with the allotted MBBS seat and if he/she does not want to be considered for up-gradation in subsequent rounds of counselling, then he/she should choose this option.

Float: If candidate decides to confirm the allotted MBBS seat and also want to be considered for up-gradation of the seat during the next Round of counselling based on his/her already filled choices, then he/she should choose this option.

Withdraw: If candidate is not satisfied with the allotted MBBS seat and do not want to be considered for MBBS Seat allotment in further rounds of counselling, he/she should choose withdraw option.

Counselling Rounds

Uttar Pradesh Director General of Medical Education conducts three rounds of counselling for MBBS Admission. They are

  1. First Round counselling
  2. Second Round counselling(Online):
  3. Mop up Round(Offline):

All eligible candidates of mopup round will have to pay additional mopup round counselling fee through their registration page online.

Candidate allotted seat during Mopup round, have to secure admission on the spot at counselling venue by depositing demand draft of tuition fee with original documents after verification. After this, they need to report at the allotted college to confirm the admission by paying other fees. Candidates who do not confirm their admission will be penalized for whole tuition fee in addition to forfeiture of their security money.

Candidates who want to participate in mopup round and whose security money has been forfeited are required to submit fresh demand draft of security money on the spot during document verification.

Upgrade

Admitted candidates can participate in second round by submitting willingness for up-gradation during admission. Such candidates should bring document for up-gradation during document verification of second round. Following documents should be taken for verification

  • Slip of submitted documents issued by allotted college
  • Fees Receipt
  • Signed Photocopy of submitted DD

Upgraded candidates will forfeit amount of admission processing fees that is decided by admitted college. They have to deposit demand draft of difference of tuition fees with necessary documents. After that, candidate need to visit newly allotted college and submit other fees and documents to confirm the admission.

Forfeiture of Fees

Candidates who do not confirm admission at allotted college will forfeit both allotted seat and security money.

Candidates who do not confirm their admission during Mopup round will be penalized for whole tuition fee in addition to forfeiture of their security money.

Resignation

Candidates will forfeit only security money if they resign from the admitted seat two days before of choice filling of second round provided such candidate are allotted seat in other state or central counselling.

In addition to forfeiture of security money, candidates are required to deposit demand draft of 10% of tuition fees as processing charge at same admission nodal center to collect submitted demand draft of tuition fee. If candidate resigns any time for whatever the reason except above, they will have to pay penalty which includes fine of whole course fee or amount of Bond.

Eligibility to Participate Uttar Pradesh State Medical Counselling

  • Candidates should secure a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible to apply.
  • As on 31-Dec-2023, candidates should have completed 17 years of age.
  • Candidates belong to the SC/ST category, they should have obtained 4o% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. PWD candidates should take 45% in the same subjects.
  • NEET examination qualified.

To Claiming the Nativity & Domicile

  • Candidates who have passed both high school(10th standard) and Intermediate(10+2) or equivalent form any recognized school located in state of Uttar Pradesh are eligible. They need not produce any documents to prove nativity.
  • Candidates who are residents of Uttar Pradesh and have passed 10th or 10+2 located outside of the state of Uttar Pradesh. Such students need to produce nativity certificate in addition to basic residence certificate.
