• Mysore Medical College is the first institution of its kind in Karnataka which was founded by His Highness Krishnarajendra Wodeyar IV, Since its inception in 1924.
• In 1958, this Medical College’s complete administration took over by the Health Department of Government of Mysore.
• Then the Government accorded Autonomous status to the college and renamed the college as Mysore Medical College & Research Institute in the month of January 2007.
