Centre of Hyderabad Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences & Research is situated in the Apollo Health City campus, an international centre for Health care professionals, education and research. The AIMSR was established in 2012, by the AHERF, a not – for- profit trust committed to quality in research and education.
The Medical College area is spread over 10 acres at the Apollo Health city campus in the Jubilee Hills area of central Hyderabad. It has 150,000 square feet for the administrative and academic block and a teaching hospital with 300 beds in a separate 100,000 sq ft facility. The college has a choice of 13 different clinical departments and 9 Pre and Para -clinical departments with 20 full time Professors and 18 Associate Professors in the broad specialties of medicine and surgery level.
This College has an annual intake of 100 Medical students which initiated in the year 2012. The student – faculty ratio is 1:1. Planned expansion in the infrastructure over the next two years includes construction of an auditorium, additional classrooms eight surgical groups and expansion of the 300 beds which the hospital has at present to 750. The Apollo Group has over 5000 consultant physicians and surgeons with the highest academic and clinical capability whose clinical expertise would be one of the most important resources.
The Academic block which adobe the basic science classrooms and laboratories has air conditioned state –of-art class rooms fully fixed with digital technology. This helps to send out medical education through use of both conventional and electronic learning tools and simulation laboratories to study basic disaster skills. This will help to give young doctors with tomorrow’s medical requirements.

The MBBS course is a four and a half year period followed by a one year compulsory rotating residential internship. The lasting 12-month internship includes short courses in community health, medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, child health, orthopedics, emergency medicine and various specialties. All these are according to the guidelines of the Medical Council of India. Admission to the MBBS program is based on the candidate marks obtained in the NEET-UG rank held by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
MBBS Course has a total of 100 seats which are divided as 15% All India quota and 85% Telangana state quota. The course duration is 4 and half years.
Admission Procedure and Eligibility
Eligibility: 17 years of age or above as on 31-Dec of the admission year. The maximum age limit to Study MBBS course is 25 years. All Higher Secondary School Students with 10+2 in science stream including biology or bio-technology along with Physics and Chemistry with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible(In case of SC/ST, 40% in board exams; 45% for OBC Category)
Admission Procedure: It is compulsory for medical enthusiasts to appear for the National Eligibility and Entrance Examination (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) after 12th grade who wish to get MBBS admission. All the Government, Private, Central and Deemed Universities will be based on NEET scores and the seats for all colleges / institutions / universities will be offered through counselling based on the eligibility Score/Rank, Preferences of colleges and seats available.

The Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Central library is one of blooming best medical library in Hyderabad. Central Library started functioning from the academic year 2012. The Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences and Research consists of a Central Library and 8 departmental libraries that collectively maintain the teaching & research programmes of the Institute.
It is a most lively place on the campus providing a safe, comfortable and friendly environment that allows continue learning and advancement of knowledge to become Apollo Smart Doctor. The Central Library addresses a total collection of over 3000 plus volumes including textbooks, reference books and non-book material in the fields of health sciences. The Library also subscribes to about more than 40 national and international print periodicals and a member of NTRMEDNET Consortium of e-journals & books.
Central library open from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm in all working days. Reading rooms outside the library will be open for 24 hrs.

AIMSR General Hospital is a 470 bedded teaching institute for the students of AIMSR Medical College located in the same campus. The hospital caters to the needs of the people from nearby and far off areas with wide range of clinical cases. Its central location is quite convenient for commutation of patients.

The average turnover of patients in OPD is about 1000 daily while the average daily admissions are around 60. All wards are well equipped and a doctor is present in each ward round the clock enabling us to deal with any untoward incident at any time.
The operation theatre complex is well planned, and is of high standards with modern, sophisticated equipment. Each Department has its own OT in the complex. Radiology department is in ground floor, houses Four X-Ray units and Ultrasound, CT Scan is available in the same premises. Additionally, there are four mobile X-Ray units.
The central laboratory is fully contained and self sufficient with state of the art equipment generating reliable and verifiable results. The support services of Security, Housekeeping etc are utilized optimally to keep premises clean & secure to provide quality care & Education.
The Department of Community Medicine runs the Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC).The UHTC is situated in Shaikpet, about 2.8 kms from the AIMSR Hospital. The UHTC has an Out Patient Department (OPD) which functions every day. The OPD caters to the health care needs of the population of UHTC field practice area. This has facilities for patient examination and minor surgical procedures. The diagnosis and treatment of patients is free including distribution of drugs.
The UHTC is under the direct administrative control of the Principal of the college. The Professor of Community Medicine supervises the functioning of UHTC through the Associate and Assistant Professors on Rotation.
The Rural Health Training Center, Moinabad
The Department of Community Medicine rules the Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC). The RHTC is situated in Moinabad, about 30 kms from the AIMSR Hospital. The RHTC has an Out Patient Department (OPD) which functions every day. The OPD caters to the health care needs of the population of field practice area. This has facilities for patient examination and minor surgical procedures.
The diagnosis and treatment of patients is free including distribution of drugs. The RHTC also has a Labour room. The UHTC is under the direct administrative control of the Principal of the college. The Professor of Community Medicine supervises the functioning of UHTC through the Associate and Assistant Professors on Rotation.
