The MBBS course is a four and a half year period followed by a one year compulsory rotating residential internship. The lasting 12-month internship includes short courses in community health, medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, child health, orthopedics, emergency medicine, and various specialties. All these are according to the guidelines of the Medical Council of India. Admission to the MBBS program is based on the candidate marks obtained in the NEET-UG rank held by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Father Muller Medical College annually in-take 150 students for the MBBS Course through 35% for State Quota and 50% for Management and 15% for NRI Quota.
Admission Procedure and Eligibility
Eligibility: 17 years of age or above as on 31-Dec of the admission year. The maximum age limit to Study MBBS course is 25 years. All Higher Secondary School Students with 10+2 in science stream including biology or biotechnology along with Physics and Chemistry with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible(In case of SC/ST, 40% in board exams; 45% for OBC Category)
Admission Procedure: It is compulsory for medical enthusiasts to appear for the National Eligibility and Entrance Examination (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) after 12th grade who wish to get MBBS admission. All the Government, Private, Central and Deemed Universities will be based on NEET scores and the seats for all colleges/institutions/universities will be offered through counseling based on the eligibility Score/Rank, Preferences of colleges and seats available.

Father Muller Medical College Located about one kilometer from the National Highway-17, Mumbai-Mangalore Highway in Kankanady in Mangalore, it is famous for being one of Bangalore’s oldest hospitals. This Medical College campus has built up in an area of more than 93,000 sqm. College buildings are built in more than 48,000 sqm area with separate Hostel and residential complex blocks. Separate Hospital buildings are available in 45,000sqm with OPD blocks.
This Medical College has 3 Examination halls available with 1200sqm area and each with 200 students seating capacity. There are five lecture halls are available in the college building, four lecture halls are available with a seating capacity of 200 in each and one with 350 seating capacity. Two lecture halls are available in the hospital building, one lecture hall is available with 200 seating capacity and another one with 120 seating capacity. These lecture halls are built-in Gallery type and these are available with audio and video facilities and needed facilities. Separate common rooms are available for men and women students, each was built in 150 sqm and attached toilet facilities.
The Father Muller Central Library began operations in 1985 at the Block Facility of the Faculty of Homeopathic Medicine. The Central Library was moved to the Mother and Child Health Block at Father Muller General Hospital, with all modern facilities on January 29, 2000. The institution’s long-term dream was to have an independent building; In this way, a new building called the “Knowledge Center” with the latest facilities was opened on June 16, 2011. This library was built on an area of 3195 sqm. The four-story complex consists of the Central Library with postgraduate and undergraduate sections. Reading rooms available inside and outside for up to 400 people. There are 20,017 books and 159 Journals, e-Library and two spacious ultra-modern conference rooms.
Father Muller Medical College Hostel is a campus residential complex with over 30,600 sqm of living space. Separate shelters for women and men are available on the student campus. Hostels offer spacious rooms and a peaceful environment conducive to the development of mind and body. There are 142 rooms for boys, including 300 accommodation, with comfortable bedding, toilet, and water. Girls Hostel has 307 rooms and over 600 accommodation facilities.
Separate PG hostel is available as boys hostel has 133 rooms with single and double accommodation facilities, PG girls hostel has 140 rooms with all facilities. It has separate Interns and Nurses Hostel also available with a totally of 335 rooms with all sorts of facilities. Separate residential blocks are available for teaching and non-teaching staff. These hostels have separate study rooms with computers and internet facilities and recreation rooms with indoor games and other facilities.
The Medical College is associated with Father. Muller College of Medicine Hospital. They have another hospital in Thumbay, Mangalore, called Father Muller Hospital, Thumbay, which acts as a village link, as well as a postgraduate training hospital. This Hospital has been in healthcare since 1880, Father Muller’s Hospital has a rich heritage that can be seen in his vast experience in medicine and gives him a reputation as an institution that combines a loving heart with highly professional skills.
This Hospital has 770 beds and these are divided into the respective medical department. There are 14 Operation theatres are available 10 with Major operation facilities and 4 with minor operation facilities. Students and trainees at the School of Social Medicine maintain delegations at public health centers in Surathkal and Jeppu, as well as at rural hospitals in Belthangady, Badyar in Dakshina Kannada and Honnavar districts in Uttara Kannada district. The university runs a regular health campus in remote areas around Dakshina Kannada and Udupi.

Father Muller Medical College is located in the city of Managalore in the southern state of Karnataka, about 352 km west of the state capital of Bangalore. The college is located 8 km from the city of Mangalore and is one of the main cities of Karnataka as it is well connected to other regions by all transport networks. Since the college is located within a city and has a distance of 4Km from the main bus terminal and has frequent transportation service to the college such as buses and taxis for around a clock.
Mangalore has a railroad crossing which is good connectivity with the other part of the state and with the country, located 2.6 km from the college with a 10 minute journey.
