As part of the Archdiocese’s mission of healing, a small dispencery was started at Thrissur, and later from that sacrifice, dedication, and above all in heaven, it has grown into Jubilee Mission Medical College & Research institute(JMMCRI) in 2002 with multi specialty Hospital with facilities for medical studies such as medical colleges, nursing colleges, schools Nursing and many relevant health science courses.

The MBBS course is a four and a half year period followed by a one year compulsory rotating residential internship. The lasting 12-month internship includes short courses in community health, medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, child health, orthopedics, emergency medicine and various specialties. All these are according to the guidelines of the Medical Council of India. Admission to the MBBS program is based on the candidate marks obtained in the NEET-UG rank held by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Jubilee Mission Medical College & research Center, Thrissur annually in-take of 100 students for the MBBS Course and allotted through 85% State Quota and 15% for NRI Quota.
Admission Procedure and Eligibility
Eligibility: 17 years of age or above as on 31-Dec of the admission year. The maximum age limit to Study MBBS course is 25 years. All Higher Secondary School Students with 10+2 in science stream including biology or biotechnology along with Physics and Chemistry with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible(In case of SC/ST, 40% in board exams; 45% for OBC Category)
Admission Procedure: It is compulsory for medical enthusiasts to appear for the National Eligibility and Entrance Examination (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) after 12th grade who wish to get MBBS admission. All the Government, Private, Central and Deemed Universities will be based on NEET scores and the seats for all colleges / institutions / universities will be offered through counselling based on the eligibility Score/Rank, Preferences of colleges and seats available.

JMMC Central Library has all the latest and updated Medical Books essential for UG and PG students. Dewey Decimal Classification System is used to classify the books. Journal Section contains National and International Journals including e-journals. Through web portal IP address based e-journals can be accessed only from the campus for full text view. Issuance of Journals are restricted. Volumes completed are bound and given for reading. It is functioning in an A/C room. Doctors and students are permitted to download subjects and write on CD’s for study purpose. There is a separate section for the purpose where all the documents including books and journals are allowed to take photocopies.
There are two types of reading rooms. In the reading room, where library books are kept, staff and students are not allowed to bring their books, they can only read library books. In the other reading rooms they can bring their books for reading. It is from 9 AM to 9 PM except holidays. In Second Saturdays from 9 Am to 5 pm. There are separate reading rooms for PG students UG students and Staff, working from 7.30 AM to 11 PM on all days except any special occasions.
Jubilee Medical College has 6 Lecture Theatres. Out of these, five Theaters are used by Medical College and another one is used by Hospital. In that, Medical College Theaters having 120 seating Capacity of students and Hospital hall having 120 seating capacity of students. There is one Lecture Theatre has LCD with LAN facility and another 3 Lecture Theaters have only LCD projector.
Jubilee Mission College has Examination Hall with a seating capacity of 700 students. This Examination hall is also act as an Auditorium for Meeting purpose. This hall is fully Air conditioned and well equipped with CCTV and Mobile jammers. The Examination hall having the area of 800 square meter.
JMMC hostel has separate building for boys and girls inside the campus. There are 65 rooms are available for boys and 168 rooms for girls students each of these room shared with 2 or 3 students. This hostel provides good water and mess facilities with hygiene. Jubilee Mission hostel has 35 rooms for interns that has the capacity for 150 persons, 40 rooms for Residents, 45 rooms for PGs and 70 rooms for Nurses.
There is residential quarters are available for teaching staff with their Family and non-teaching staff. These quarters having the capacity for 62 and 20 persons. Common rooms with attached toilet for boys and girls. Girls room having the area of 251 sq.m. and Boys room having the area of 253 sq.m.
JMMC college with recreation room having television, music, indoor and outdoor games like Athletics, Football, Cricket, Badminton and Basketball. There is a playground for these games are also available in the hostel. The Central Photography section is available in the hostel. The gymnasium is available for both of the students at the hostel. It has well trained coaches and well developed equipment.
Rt. In Sacredoll It is a monument to the silver Jubilee of the Thrissur Bishop Rev. Dr. George Alphabet who was the first patron of the hospital was. In 1952, the hospital began its service with four rooms and 20 beds, two retired part-time doctors and two nurses of the Holy Cross congregation, Sr. Albertina and Sr. Alberta. It was the first and only private hospital in Thrissur.
At the time of its opening, the hospital was operating in an area of the old building of St. Mary Thorpe Minor Seminary, Thrissur. His Famous Cardinal N.T. Gilroy of Australia blessed the first hospital building on 30th December 1952 that was commissioned by the Cardinal V.Gracias, H.E. Martin Lucas, SVD, the then Apostolic Internuncio to India started this institution on 23rd April, 1953. Cardinal Tisserant blessed the first operation theatre in the same year. This hospital totally has 1500 beds. It allows 1654 Outpatients approximately.
In the addition of the super specialties of cardiology and nephrology in 1998, the hospital opened up new horizons of healthcare to the general public from various parts of Thikkur, Palakkad and Malappuram. Other super speciality departments such as Urology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Neuro Surgery, Endocrinology, Gastro Surgery, etc were soon added to the services of the hospital. There is Medical Record is fully computerized and networked with Outpatient and Inpatients departments.

Jubliee Mission Medical college is located in Thrissur, Kerala state. Thrissur City has Good connectivity with all transport facilities in other parts of Kerala, as well as India. The Medical College is located within the city, as 2 km from the city center and has local transportation is available such as buses, taxis and Meter Auto around a clock to reach the college.
As a result, the city has developed a network of railways and that are well connected to all other parts of India. Thrissur train station is one of the main Rail Junction in Kerala state, and 3 km from the college. The central bus Stand is 2.5km from the college with 10 minutes travel. The nearest airport is Cochin International Airport, about 50 km from Medical college, which has good connectivity with other countries and national airports, and takes an hour’s drive.
