While starting the College the UG Course duration was covered a period of 7 years including 2 years of pre-medical intermediate science with admitted of 16 students and later in 1969 reduced to 5 ½ years includes 1year internship and the strength increased to 130 students. Now the college admission strength is gradually increased and reached to 200 students per year.

The MBBS course is a four and a half year period followed by a one-year compulsory rotating residential internship. The lasting 12-month internship includes short courses in community health, medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, child health, orthopedics, emergency medicine and various specialties. All these are according to the guidelines of the Medical Council of India. Admission Procedure and Eligibility
Eligibility: 17 years of age or above as on 31-Dec of the admission year. The maximum age limit to Study MBBS course is 25 years. All Higher Secondary School Students with 10+2 in science stream including biology or bio-technology along with Physics and Chemistry with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible(In case of SC/ST, 40% in board exams; 45% for OBC Category)
Admission Procedure: It is compulsory for medical enthusiasts to appear for the National Eligibility and Entrance Examination (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) after 12th grade who wish to get MBBS admission. All the Government, Private, Central and Deemed Universities will be based on NEET scores and the seats for all colleges / institutions / universities will be offered through counselling based on the eligibility Score/Rank, Preferences of colleges and seats available.

Smt. S.K. Hospital(SSKH) and Kalawati Saran Children Hospital(KSCH) is the affiliated teaching hospital for LHMC. SSKH is established in 1916 with only 80 beds for the departments of Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and now has bed strength increased to 877 beds and for Kalawati Saran Children Hospital was established on 1956 with 50beds and gradually by 377beds at present. SSKH has started separate outpatient block in 1958 to cater to the needs of an increasing population. The hospital has the largest Neonatal wing in Delhi with 84 beds and total operation theatres are 13nos in SSKH and 4nos in KSCH available.
The Hospital complexes are fully digitized as E Hospital service provides in all the departments to access and delivery of quality assured services to the patients.
