MBBS Course

The MBBS course is a four and a half year period followed by a one year compulsory rotating residential internship. The lasting 12-month internship includes short courses in community health, medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, child health, orthopedics, emergency medicine and various specialties. All these are according to the guidelines of the Medical Council of India. Admission to the MBBS program is based on the candidate marks obtained in the NEET-UG rank held by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

MBBS Course has a total of 150 seats which are divided as 15% All India quota and 85% Telangana state quota. The course duration is 4 and half years.

Admission Procedure and Eligibility

Eligibility: 17 years of age or above as on 31-Dec of the admission year. The maximum age limit to Study MBBS course is 25 years. All Higher Secondary School Students with 10+2 in science stream including biology or bio-technology along with Physics and Chemistry with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible(In case of SC/ST, 40% in board exams; 45% for OBC Category)

Admission Procedure: It is compulsory for medical enthusiasts to appear for the National Eligibility and Entrance Examination (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) after 12th grade who wish to get MBBS admission. All the Government, Private, Central and Deemed Universities will be based on NEET scores and the seats for all colleges / institutions / universities will be offered through counselling based on the eligibility Score/Rank, Preferences of colleges and seats available.

Admission to Mamata Medical College is based on the score obtained in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test(NEET) conducted by National Testing Agency(NTA). Students can take admission in this medical institution either through All India Medical Counselling as All India Quota of 15% of MBBS seats and balance through Telangana State medical counselling as State Quota of 85% which is conducted by state medical authorities.

In the Ground Floor Section have Library Counter and Students Baggage Counter with common reading room with seating capacity of 150 seats its looks like silent study area with privacy cabins and UG common reading rooms with seating capacity of around 150 seats, Photocopying like Xerox Machine, Book Binding and Internet Facilities also available.

First Floor for PG Students with Seat Capacity of 75, Staff Reading room with 30 Seats and 30 Seats for Journal Section, then the Digital Library with 48 Computers connected to Internet.

Lecture Halls

Mamata Medical College Lecture Halls are fully air conditioned lecture theatres with a shifted seating capacity in each lecture theatre. They provide facilities to survey live surgical procedures there by offering an opportunity to see the experts at work. Other then lecture theatres all the departments have A/C Seminar Rooms / Demonstration Rooms with a capacity of 20 to 30 and are equipped with audio-visual aids. Totally have 8 Lecture Halls, In that 4 halls having 180 seating capacity at college campus and one Lecture Hall having 350 Capacity , 200 Capacity Lecture Hall, Then 150 Seated Lecture Hall and 180 Seated Lecture Halls are there.

Affiliated Hospitals

The Medical College has its own hospital and named as Mamata General Hospital. This Hospital has total bed strength of 900 beds. Hospital is in a separate campus. The travelling distance between college campus and hospital campus is 1 Kms.

The Mamata General Hospital was recognized in the year 1996 with 300 beds and has been upgraded to 900 beds in the process of transforming it is the teaching hospital of Mamata Medical College. Separate out-patient block and in patient blocks are constructed for the patients.

Out Patient Department

Mamata General Hospital Out Patient departments like General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopedics, O. B. G., Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, E. N. T., T. B. C. D., Dermatology and Psychiatry have their own OPD facilities with separate male and female examination rooms. Every day around 1800 out patients turn up to the OPD from nearby areas.

Inpatient Wards

Mamata General Hospital Inpatient wards are more spaciously designed with the teaching beds to the students. Clinical demonstration rooms, treatment rooms, Duty Doctors and Nurses rooms are also provided in each ward. There are 14 A/C operation theatres in the hospital with latest equipment.
