Infrastructure
- The Central Library at MP Shah Medical College is situated on the 3rd floor of the building and covers an area of 4800 square meters.
- The Library is open from 9 am to 11 pm for the purpose of students.
- It provides reading rooms for inside and outside, staff, PG and Interns.
- Inside and Outside reading room has the capacity of 300, Staff reading room has the capacity of 100 and PG/Interns reading room has the capacity of 200.
- The library currently has more than 22968 books, 1428 National journals, 4983 International journals, videotapes and multimedia items.
- There are 41 computers with 50 ports on the Internet, an LCD projector and Xerox machine in the virtual library.

- The Medical College and hostel campus was being built, shift arrangements for the men’s hostel were made in the old psychiatric hospital building outside the Subhash Bridge, which was later relocated to the “Shah Jesangbai Sundarji Gyanmandir”, the railway crossing.
- In the same way the girls hostel was started at the “Ramesh Kunj” bungalow near the Jolly Bungalow.

- The hospital was opened on September 27, 1927 by Lord Irwin.
- Irwin Hospital had in 1927, then 170 beds when the Medical College was started in 1955.
- Since then, all the departments have been upgraded to grid wise and the number of beds has increased to 1275 (in 2005).
- There are 50 IP wards and 10 operation theaters.
- Irwin Hospital is the 2nd largest hospital in the state of Gujarat.
