North Delhi Municipal Corporation(NDMC) Medical College was started at the Hindu Rao Hospital Premises in 2013 under affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Dwarka, Delhi. In 2012 the Delhi Municipal Corporation has been trifurcated into three separate corporations and The Medical College and Hindu Rao Hospital is now a part of North Delhi Municipal Corporation. Hindu Rao Hospital is one of the oldest hospitals in Delhi as the main building is functioning in popularly known as Hindu Rao’s House.
The history of the hospitals was in 1857 the Raja Hindu Rao residence was a major battle during the Revolt and has long since been converted into a well known Government hospital named after Hindu Rao Hospital. The new Medical College was started at Hospital premises with admitted MBBS students of 50 as the first batch and has been named as North Delhi Municipal Corporation Medical College. The campus is surrounded by many important landmarks the most important being is the Raj Niwas.

The MBBS course is a four and a half year period followed by a one year compulsory rotating residential internship. The lasting 12-month internship includes short courses in community health, medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, child health, orthopedics, emergency medicine and various specialties. All these are according to the guidelines of the Medical Council of India. Admission to the MBBS program is based on the candidate marks obtained in the NEET-UG rank held by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
NDMC Medical College offers in medical stream at the undergraduate (UG) level and admits 50 students for the MBBS course annually.
Admission Procedure and Eligibility
Eligibility: 17 years of age or above as on 31-Dec of the admission year. The maximum age limit to Study MBBS course is 25 years. All Higher Secondary School Students with 10+2 in science stream including biology or bio-technology along with Physics and Chemistry with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible(In case of SC/ST, 40% in board exams; 45% for OBC Category)
Admission Procedure: It is compulsory for medical enthusiasts to appear for the National Eligibility and Entrance Examination (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) after 12th grade who wish to get MBBS admission. All the Government, Private, Central and Deemed Universities will be based on NEET scores and the seats for all colleges / institutions / universities will be offered through counselling based on the eligibility Score/Rank, Preferences of colleges and seats available.
The Admissions are based upon highly competitive premedical entrance examination of NEET which is conducted by NTA. NDMC Medical College offers in the medical stream at the undergraduate (UG) level of MBBS course with admits 50 students annually and allotted through as 15% to All India Quota and 85% to State Quota.

The NDMC Medical College and Hindu Rao Hospital is the largest hospital under the North Delhi Municipal Corporation is picturesque hilltop and surrounded by the green belt. The Main Admin Block consists of Dean’s Office, administrative, secretarial staff, academic and examination hall. The Exam Hall total has 4nos and built up area of 250Sq.mtr with a seating capacity of 250 each. Apart from Admin block, the college has three air-conditioned Lecture theatres with eighty seated and one Auditorium with seating capacity of 350, all are fully equipped with audiovisual systems and along with Central library on V and VII floors of G- Block.
The college has well-experienced faculty staff of 74 members and residents employed 49 in different disciplines and it’s recognized as teaching for many specialities in the medical stream. Hence, the college has the excellence of infrastructure and highly an experiences faculty makes it an ideal training institute for Undergraduate and Postgraduate medical students.
The College has Central located on V and VII floors of G-Blocky block, which is centrally accessible location. It has an active service-oriented library as it effectively contributes to the college Staff and Students and in addition supporting the hospitals’ primary mission of providing patients with the best possible care and patient care by providing physicians, health care professionals, nurses, technologists etc.. The library area covers 1008 Sq.mtrs with collection of Books around 4565 and Subscribed Journals of Indian 57 & Foreign 24 and also having Special collection CDs and Special Publications of WHO.
NDMC Medical College and HRH are providing residential campus quarters for the staff of Hospital and hostels for students. The hostels are provided separately for both Girls & Boys which include 106 rooms for Boys and 61rooms for Girls all the rooms are hygiene, furnished and necessary adequate facilities. Moreover, the college ongoing new six storied Hostel complex is under construction within the premises to accommodate more than 100 students.
