Subbaiah Institute of Medical Sciences is a Tadikela Subbaiah Trust unit, formed in 2003 by Sri. T. Subbaramaiah, a well-informed, insightful farmer, is eager to take up education and research in areas that will remain smooth in their sweeping and swaying. In view of their induction into the Board, all trustees use their training and skills to strengthen medical education in the country, create dedicated doctors, and, more importantly, provide medical services to the community.
The institute is also referred to by its name and style as the “SUBBAIAH MEDICAL COLLEGE”. It has a fully equipped hi-technology Research and Learning Center, which is based on the postgraduate education program in the area. Known for higher education and uncontrolled learning facilities, students from all over India and from overseeing the College offer courses leading to Medicine, Nursing and Dental Care. Subbaiah Hospital works fully with all the advanced facilities and technologies. Students are given ample opportunity to interact with patients and gain first-hand clinical experience.

The MBBS course is a four and a half year period followed by a one year compulsory rotating residential internship. The lasting 12-month internship includes short courses in community health, medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, child health, orthopedics, emergency medicine, and various specialties. All these are according to the guidelines of the Medical Council of India. Admission to the MBBS program is based on the candidate marks obtained in the NEET-UG rank held by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Subbaiah Institute of Medical Sciences annually in-take 150 students for the MBBS Course through 85% State Quota and balance 15% for Management/ NRI Quota.
Admission Procedure and Eligibility
Eligibility: 17 years of age or above as on 31-Dec of the admission year. The maximum age limit to Study MBBS course is 25 years. All Higher Secondary School Students with 10+2 in science stream including biology or biotechnology along with Physics and Chemistry with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible(In case of SC/ST, 40% in board exams; 45% for OBC Category)
Admission Procedure: It is compulsory for medical enthusiasts to appear for the National Eligibility and Entrance Examination (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) after 12th grade who wish to get MBBS admission. All the Government, Private, Central and Deemed Universities will be based on NEET scores and the seats for all colleges/institutions/universities will be offered through counseling based on the eligibility Score/Rank, Preferences of colleges and seats available.

The Subbaiah Institute of Medical Sciences is named after the name and style “SUBBAIAH MEDICAL COLLEGE”. Spread over 32 acres of lush greenery, College is housed in several buildings that occupy a total area of 12,000,000 sqm. The Institute has a 700-person multi-specialist hospital and other auxiliary medical facilities, as recommended by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The Institute also has a well-equipped, technologically advanced research and science center that dives into post-graduate educational programs that are in the anvil.
This Medical College has air-conditioned large lecture halls to accommodate 180 students. All lecture halls are equipped with audiovisual equipment such as LCD projectors, slide projectors, microphones. All lecture rooms have air conditioning. Seminar rooms/demonstration rooms with a capacity from 20 to 30 and equipped with audiovisual aids.Four gallery-type lecture rooms with 180 students in studies equipped with E-class devices.
Anatomy museum shows wet and dry samples and embryology like Models, ski grams, CT scans, MRI, X-ray fields are facilitated for students with area covers 200 sq m. They are intended for 35 students studying at the museum at the same time and connected two rooms 15 SQ.MT each for preparing models, specimens and for the work of artists and modelers.
The campus central library is a centrally air-conditioned 2400 SQ.M library that can accommodate 300 students at a time. Foreign magazines are subscribed to students to update their knowledge. There are 7665 textbooks are available and 62 Journals, handbooks of various subjects are available to help students meet the requirements. Devices, such as scanners and photocopiers, are placed under the control of a librarian so that students can make photocopies of reference materials and magazines. 40 Computers are available with Internet facilities in the E-Library section. It’s working from 09.00 to 23.59 days of the week and Holidays from 09.00 to 16.00. All departments have their own individual libraries. Departmental libraries also function as seminar rooms by appropriate employees.
Providing accommodation to students is a basic task. Well-equipped AC and non-AC hostels, separate for boys and girls, meet the requirements of a comfortable student life. The disorder in the hostel provides students with healthy and hygienic food. Security guards are available at all times to ensure the safety of prisoners in shelters. Boys Hostel has 106 rooms available with needed facilities and 85 rooms available in Girls Hostel. Guest rooms, recreation room with music, indoor games, TV rooms with DTH network plasma TV are available for students in their hostel. A separate air-conditioned learning room with internet access is also available to students in their hostels.
Outdoor and indoor gaming facilities are provided, as well as a wellness center to keep future doctors healthy. Students can also enjoy games such as soccer, basketball, cricket, hockey, indoor badminton, and table tennis. Physical trainers pay special attention to the training and involvement of students in the above activities. A well-equipped, air-conditioned gym for staff and students with a qualified physical trainer is open 7 days before and after class time.
Subbaiah Trust has built spacious buildings for the Subbaiah hospital to facilitate primary and tertiary health care for all types of people. Providing GLP to patients below the poverty line is one of the best SMCH programs to provide medical facilities for the poor.
All departments, such as general medicine, general surgery, orthopedics, OBG, pediatrics, ophthalmology, psychiatry, USA, TBCD, dermatology, and psychiatry, have their OPD facilities with separate offices for men and women. Student demo rooms are provided alongside all OPDs for clinical purposes. OPD’s central laboratory is well equipped with pathology, biochemistry and microbiology departments. Every day, about 800 patients arrive at the OPD in the area. The radio diagnostic department has 800 mA with IITV, 600mA x-ray, 300mA x-ray, 100mA x-ray, 60mA x-ray, ultrasound, CT and color Doppler.
The causative departments have 25-bed central air conditioning, providing 24-hour emergency assistance. Devices such as respirators, defibrillators, pulse oximeters, heart rate monitors, rescue trolleys and bumper cars are available to help patients. Ancillary services such as Blood Bank, C.S.S.D., laundry, pharmacy, machine wash, postoperative departments, and medical documentation are available from SMCH. The operating rooms are centrally air-conditioned and are divided into smaller and larger OTs connected to various departments.
