The MBBS course is a four and a half year period followed by a one year compulsory rotating residential internship.
The lasting 12-month internship includes short courses in community health, medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, child health, orthopedics, emergency medicine and various specialties. All these are according to the guidelines of the Medical Council of India. Admission to the MBBS program is based on the candidate marks obtained in the NEET-UG rank held by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
KMCT Medical College offers MBBS Course has a total of 150 seats annually which are divided as 15% as NRI Quota and remaining 85% for Management Quota which are conducted by Kerala State Quota Counselling.
Admission Procedure and Eligibility
Eligibility: 17 years of age or above as on 31-Dec of the admission year. The maximum age limit to Study MBBS course is 25 years. All Higher Secondary School Students with 10+2 in science stream including biology or biotechnology along with Physics and Chemistry with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible(In case of SC/ST, 40% in board exams; 45% for OBC Category)
Admission Procedure: It is compulsory for medical enthusiasts to appear for the National Eligibility and Entrance Examination (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) after 12th grade who wish to get MBBS admission. All the Government, Private, Central and Deemed Universities will be based on NEET scores and the seats for all colleges / institutions / universities will be offered through counselling based on the eligibility Score/Rank, Preferences of colleges and seats available.

KMCT Medical College spread over the area of 22500 sq.m. This Medical College hospital having more than 32500 sq.m. Hostel and Residential complex was built within the area 18820 square meter of land.
KMCT central library was built up within 2400 sqm area. It is fully air-conditioned well protected with fire alarms and having other safety measures. KMCT Library having the seating capacity for 150 students. The library possesses more than 11682 books Consisting Of 4457 Titles. This Library has the medical journals and e-journals are subscribed for the students. Moreover, each department has its own small library Allied Sciences.
KMCT Library Subscribes 44 International Journals and 75 National Journals by various publishers. This Library also subscribes the back volumes of 77 indian journals and 69 International Journal. It also has 752 CD/DVD Collections. KMCT library is fully automated with locally developed software with the OPAC feature. Working hours of the Library is starting from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m for Monday – Saturday. Opening hours of Sundays and other holidays is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Lecture & Examination Halls
We have a total of six lecture halls. In lecture halls, four of them can accommodate more than 180 students, and one can accommodate more than 200 students. They are spacious, air-conditioned and equipped with all modern amenities such as microphones and overhead projectors.
KMCT Medical College has 2 Examination hall. There is one hall with a seating capacity of 250 students. It is built in 400 sq.m. Another examination hall serves as an auditorium for meeting purpose. This hall has an area of 1200 square meters with seating capacity for 750 students.
KMCTMC campus has separate hostels for boys and girls within the campus. There are 45 rooms for boys and 160 rooms for girls and this room is shared with 3 students. KMCT Medical College hostel offers good water and mess facilities with hygiene. The hostel has 67 rooms with 2 people sharing for interns, 80 rooms for residents and 57 rooms for nurses.
It has residential quarters for teaching staff and non-teaching staff. These quarters with capacity for 24 and 35 persons. These are all safe and well maintained. There is Common rooms are available with attached toilet for boys and girls. These rooms are spread over 150 sq.m each.
KMCT Medical College has six museums on campus for preclinical and paraclinical disciplines such as anatomy, forensic medicine, social medicine, pharmacology, microbiology and pathology. A wide range of specimens, models, charts etc.is available in the Museum which is students can handle it.
The Medical College has four canteens. Two canteens on campus, one in the hospital and the fourth one inside the college. A wide variety of snacks, rides, food and drinks are available here.
There are many options on campus for students to Recreation. These facilities are to play football, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, etc. to relieve their stress after classes and exams. In addition, the college hosts regular art festivals, and popular music bands are invited to campus. The hostel campus also has Gymnasium for students with well equipment and well trained coaches.
KMCT Hospital was established in 2008. The Medical College is affiliated with KMCT Medical College Hospital, a tertiary multispecialty hospital with more than 650 beds. This KMCT Medical College Hospital visits 1210 people daily to raise awareness of health, prevent diseases and curing ailments.
KMCT hospital complex is well equipped and staffed with basic general units and auxiliary specialties. KMCT Medical College is situated in Manaserry in the Kozhikode district, Kerala State. Kozhikode is the second largest urban agglomeration in the state and the 20th largest in the country and In addition, it is one of the largest economic centers of Kerala. The city has a well-developed transport infrastructure and the KSRTC bus stop is the largest bus station in Kerala and a large number of buses, operated mainly by private owners, travel around the city and surrounding areas on major routes.
The KMCT College is located 25 km from Kozhikode City and takes 50 minutes to travel by bus along the Calicut Mukkam and Gudalur-Nilambur-Kozhikode / Mavoor roads. Kozhikode Railway Station is one of Kerala’s main railway junctions and takes 1 hour to travel, located 26 km from the college. In addition, the city has a Calicut International Airport, well-connected to domestic and foreign countries, located 33 kilometers from the college and takes the one-hour Journey.
