MBBS Course

The MBBS course is a four and a half year period followed by a one year compulsory rotating residential internship. The lasting 12-month internship includes short courses in community health, medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, child health, orthopedics, emergency medicine, and various specialties. All these are according to the guidelines of the Medical Council of India. Admission to the MBBS program is based on the candidate marks obtained in the NEET-UG rank held by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Yenepoya Medical College annually in-take 150 students for the MBBS Course through for State Quota 10% and Remaining 90% Seats under All India Quota(AIQ)Counselling as Managment and NRI Quota seats.

Admission Procedure and Eligibility

Eligibility: 17 years of age or above as on 31-Dec of the admission year. The maximum age limit to Study MBBS course is 25 years. All Higher Secondary School Students with 10+2 in science stream including biology or biotechnology along with Physics and Chemistry with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible(In case of SC/ST, 40% in board exams; 45% for OBC Category)

Admission Procedure: It is compulsory for medical enthusiasts to appear for the National Eligibility and Entrance Examination (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) after 12th grade who wish to get MBBS admission. All the Government, Private, Central and Deemed Universities will be based on NEET scores and the seats for all colleges/institutions/universities will be offered through counseling based on the eligibility Score/Rank, Preferences of colleges and seats available.

Infrastructure

Yenepoya Medical College campus has spread over more than 31 acres with a sophisticated building structure. This Medical College campus has built up in an area of more than 85,000 sqm. College buildings are built in more than 55,000 sqm area with separate Hostel and residential complex blocks. Separate Hospital buildings are available in 31,200sqm with OPD blocks. There are separated Common rooms are available in 300 sqm with attached toilet and comfortable seating facility.

Lecture Halls

There are five classrooms built like a gallery, 1 with 380 seats, 3 with 180 seats and 1 with 250 seating capacity located in the hospital. The classrooms are equipped with excellent seating and the latest audiovisual equipment. Classroom audio-visual features include a sound amplifier system, ceiling projection, 35 mm slide projection, and LCD projections, as well as traditional blackboard and chalk. The classrooms were also equipped with e-learning devices. The exam room has an adequate number of seats and is designed so that all students have a good view of the supervisor. The hall is monitored by CCTV. The university has a full-time campus employee and student advisor.

Library

The Yenepoya Library was created at the beginning of the Yenepoya School of Dentistry in 1992. The library has been automated thanks to integrated library management software that also provides access to your collection via the online public access directory (OPAC). The Central Library is a member of the eJournal consortium (HELINET) of the University of Health Sciences in Rajiv Gandhi (RGUHS) and users can access over 482 electronic journals. Also subscribes to three (3) EBSCO International Inc. databases, available on the university network.

The Central Library has become an institutional member of the Mangalore University Library to facilitate students, teachers and researchers using printed and electronic resources available at the Mangalore University Library. Thanks to this association, you have access to over 5000 UGC-INFONET electronic journals.

Yenepoya Medical College Hostel is a campus residential complex with over 35,300 sqm of living space. Separate shelters for women and men are available on the student campus. There are 158 rooms for boys, including 316 accommodation, with comfortable bedding, toilet, and water. Girls Hostel has 168 rooms and over 500 accommodation facilities. Separate PG hostel is available, PG boys hostel has 259 rooms with single and double accommodation facilities, PG girls hostel has 279 rooms with all facilities.

It has separate Interns and Nurses Hostel also available with a total of 75 rooms with all sorts of facilities. Separate residential blocks are available for teaching and non-teaching staff. These hostels have separate study rooms with computers and internet facilities, and recreation rooms with indoor games and other facilities.

Yenepoya Medical College is located in Mangalore city in the southern state of Karnataka, 352 km west of the state capital, Bangalore. The college is located at a distance of 17.5 km from the city of Mangalore and is one of the major cities in Karnataka as it is well connected to other parts of the country through all the transport networks. The college is located 17 km from the main bus terminal and has frequent transit services to the college, such as buses and taxis.
